I 've only been using these a couple of weeks, but I can say without a doubt that I prefer them to my old PowerBlocks. It's so simple to adjust the weight, the dumbbells feel solid and not too bulky, and they 're just generally really solid selectable dumbbells for the price point. The only critique I have is that the base for each dumbbell feels flimsy as heck, so I have to be extra careful storing them. I may pick up a stand at some point, though.

These are a necessity for your home gym. Save so much space and you get plenty of weight in increments of 2. 5lbs. These are not bulky like the Boflex( which I ’ m a fan of as well) over all if you can get a pair I recommend it. The other reviews are based off not being able to get a hold of these that lets you know how great these are.

Recently purchased this for my boyfriend. He LOVES it! We played around with the Nordick ones in store and we both agreed the transitions on it was horrible and too time consuming compared to these. When I first started looking for adjustable dumbbells I decided to go with Bowflex. I called and asked them what they have and they were all out of the Bowflex but they had Ethos. I talked to the rep a bit about them. I went down there and bought the Ethos and I ’ ve never looked back. I love the way they look and the way they work. I can do everything with them no gym needed. In a few weeks my arms went from 13 to 17 inches. Ethos has helped me to lose over 40lbs along side my cardio. Putting the weights back can be a little clunky and not smooth but I ’ m a Man so I can handle it lol. In all seriousness once you get the hang of it they are super easy to put back. I use the two hand technique and they slide right in. These things have changed my life I love them so much.

Excellent quality, only inconvenient compared to the competitors is the few minutes you spend setting up the weights between each set/exercise. You can buy extensions/heavier plates at the store. I 'd recommend buying gloves to protect your hands from the coarse grip.

Most dumbbells' weight sets include curl bars as part of the total poundage, but this vinyl weight set is fully 40 lbs of weights, which means to add the weights to your leg developer, straight bar, etc., you can count on 40 total pounds. I got these specifically because they offer 2. 5lb increments across the weight spectrum: especially as you go up in weights, sometimes adding 5lbs per hand can feel like just too much for me, so the 2. 5lb option was fantastic. That said, they are a bit on the pricey side: more so than the other options, and they 're not expandable, unfortunately. I knew that when I bought them, and I do n't think it 'll be an issue for me for a while, but it is something to consider before purchasing.
