These came just in time for me to shovel my driveway. I thought the elements were on the backs of the hands so was uneasy with gripping a snow shovel, but it must have been okay. I did n't think with the elements on the palms of the hands, that my hands would stay warm. But, when I got inside and took them off, my hands were warm. They are huge( I 'm sure intended for a man's hands), but I made it work. In the long run, I 'm very happy with them. My hands always go numb from the cold below 15 degrees. I ’ ve tried top tier mittens and wool liners to no avail. With these mittens I skied all day at 10 degrees and two breaks and kept my hands warm. I used medium and low settings most of the time and still had half the battery left at the end of the day. The most extreme weather I used them in was snowshoeing in- 25- 28 °F with a good 10- 15 mph wind. The mittens were so warm that at times I had to remove them so my hands could cool off. Highly highly recommend these gloves, especially if you have a toddler, kids gloves are always so hard to get on them and get their fingers in the right hole and make sure it ’s on properly and stays on throughout the outside process. I thought they would be good based on the specs- solid amount of synthetic insulation, durable palms. They exceeded what I hoped due to the hi pile inner lining. Had them bushwhacking/ breaking up deep snow this winter on some ADK high peaks and even when I had to squeeze out my glove liners from the snow dumping off everything and getting everywhere the pile lining does not collapse/wet out and allowed me to keep hands warm/ evaporate some of that wet. The outers were frozen due to all the water, and I was still fine. So they get major points for damp/icy/cold NE winters because they deal well with the constant moisture. Used them on several overnights as well and they were still functional handling a couple days of it. Can sleep with the removable liners on overnight to dry if needed. Palms have held up to various spruce/fir scrub swimming, some ice ax use, and clawing through deep snow. Seems pretty good.

The gloves do a great job lightly insulating, they are n't waterproof but still do a decent job keeping your hands dry. I 've hiked with them, they make good driving mitts too. They are pretty windproof too which makes them the most useful in colder windy weather. My only complaint is if you 're wearing a watch or some other form of wrist accessory, the wrist parts of the glove do n't do a great job accommodating for that. Other than that, great mitts.

I have owned these mittens through two seasons now. Through that time they have held up very well through trees, being dragged on the ground, and carrying around sharp edges of a snowboard. I waited on making a review to see how they held up over time after being completely soaked and dried numerous times, and evaluate the wear on the palm. Both have impressed, but not as much as their warming capability. The thing that will separate these from other mittens is their ability to warm while wet. They are not as waterproof as some other gloves as this price point, but they are the warmest mittens I have ever used and they retain that warming ability even when the inside is saturated. My suggestion would be an alternative to velcro for the wrist cuff as snow gets caught on it very easily, making it difficult to use( draw string?). These gloves have been used between temps of 15- 45 degrees F on the west and east coast in clear and stormy conditions. Picture displays palm wear after 1. 5 seasons of heavy use.

These mitts kept my hands warm even on cold days! I did go out on a wet and warm day but it did n't seem to wet out on me on those days. If the mittens were exposed to water for a long duration of time then it may have soaked through. Overall great mittens and I would get them again!

Finally found a pair of mittens that have a removable liner( for washing) that stays put when you put mittens on and off. Fleece liner is comfortable, not bunchy, and so warm. Cuffs are comfortable and make these extra warm. Adjustable strap makes the fit just right. I have very cold hands and these are the best mittens I 've found. I work outside throughout the winter and the hardest thing to do is keep my fingers warm when it gets 20 degrees or less. I decided to try these mittens for the times I do n't need fingers( gloves). They are excellent. I added a Hot Hands hand warmer to each mitten and they kept my fingers toasty. While they are great for walking and casual outdoor activities I would not recommend them for skiing or any rougher conditions.
