Just a little over three years ago, I made the switch from monofilament to Power Pro ’s braid. One of my first experiences using Power Pro was when 10 LB braid hauled in a massive, 8- foot log in the strong current of a stream. I was astounded at its strength, and this served as an indicator of how it would perform over the next few years. The sensitivity with this braid is unbelievable. You will be able to feel every bite, every rock, every weed, and every time you touch the bottom. Additionally, the No- stretch allows you to instantly set the hook on fish, giving them no wiggle room and providing an instant- action feel that is awesome. Over my three years of using PowerPro, I can only remember twice when a fish broke me off. That is incredible considering how many fish I ’ ve successfully caught in that time frame. With other types of line, I can ’ t imagine how many fish I would ’ ve lost. This stuff is the standard for a reason. It ’s high quality and its strength is unmatched. I ’ ll likely stick with it for life. 10/10.

After using Spider wire EZ braid i was not impressed by Spider Wire at all. But after using this i fell in love, very strong and durable! After a fishing trip fighting 9 bass it held true and hardly lost the color like the EZ braid did. This is probaly not the greatest braid out there but for what i need it for it's amazing! Would recommend to anyone who fishes 1- 2 times a week.

I have tried almost every type of line Spiderwire makes and this is by far my favorite. Casting is among the farthest if used and the color is fantastic.

Frequently Asked Questions For Fishing Line For Bottom Fishing

For bottom fishing, anglers often prefer monofilament or fluorocarbon lines due to their strength and sensitivity. Monofilament lines provide good stretch, which can help absorb the shock of a fish strike, while fluorocarbon lines offer low visibility underwater and excellent abrasion resistance. Choosing the right line depends on the specific conditions and species you are targeting.

Line strength is crucial in bottom fishing, as it determines how much weight the line can handle without breaking. A stronger line can withstand the pulling force of larger fish and the resistance from underwater structures. It's important to match the line strength to the species you are targeting and the fishing environment.

When selecting fishing line for bottom fishing, consider factors such as line type, strength, diameter, and visibility. Monofilament is often favored for its stretch and ease of use, while fluorocarbon is chosen for its invisibility and sensitivity. Additionally, the line's diameter can affect casting distance and the ability to detect bites.

The choice between braided line and monofilament for bottom fishing depends on your fishing style and conditions. Braided line offers high strength with a thinner diameter, allowing for better sensitivity and casting distance, while monofilament provides more stretch and shock absorption. Many anglers choose to use a combination of both for optimal performance.

Line diameter plays a significant role in bottom fishing, affecting both casting distance and the line's ability to sink quickly. Thinner lines can cut through the water more easily and reach the bottom faster, while thicker lines may be more visible to fish. It's essential to balance diameter with strength to ensure effective fishing.
