This time of the year, being summer time the water temps are high... the 6XD crank bait gets down to the right thermal climb where the fish are suspended.. the floating feature is a plus.. crank then stop.. bass hit alot of times as the crank bait starts to float up... long casts are reqired to get the lure down deep.. also fluorocarbin line is a must.. also good to troll with.. bouncing off the bottom works also.

I 've been catching large mouth and spotted bass with this lure all winter. The gizzard shad and the sexy shad are my go to colors. Throw it across a rocky point in about 10- 15' of water and slowly crank it across the bottom. Make sure you bounce it off the rocks and hold on. The bass crush it. I will always use the 6XD or the 5XD. Strike King makes the best crank baits i 've ever used.

I used every option in this kit. First thing in the morning I used the pop R, and fish would hit it as soon as it hit the water. Once the sun was out, we switched to the crickhopper and wee crawfish. Kept catching them all day. At one point we got to a bigger section of river, tied on the little crank bait, and even started catching small bass! Perfect for every occasion!

I started using most of these back in the 90s when I started fishing. So when I recently saw the 4- pack I picked one up to replace old and lost lures, and recommended it to my brother, who finally got into fishing. These lures are still some of my standbys, especially for smaller waters, even though I have hundreds more, and my brother relies heavily on them. I have been using the grasshopper since the beginning. Throw it under overhanging trees and near tall grass or cattails to imitate a bug that landed in the water. `` Twitch and pause '' to get fish's attn, rather than cranking it straight in, especially if the surface is calm. Works great for bluegills and bass. I bought the crayfish to fish in streams for trout and smallmouth bass. Works well in clear water and over rocky bottoms. The Wee- R( the little fish), in this color can imitate a fish or a crayfish. I was surprised at how effective it was. I caught a lot of bass in shallow rocky or muddy areas. Personally, I 've had less success with the popper, but I know people who swear by these things. Try it around dawn and dusk, or on overcast days( low light gives it a tempting silhouette), and experiment with a sharp twitch followed by a long pause, a series of quick twitches, then a pause, and other cadences until you find on that works.

Great lure for Lake Michigan Smallies. I gave a 5 star review but it is more like 4. 5 stars. My only complaint would be that they are very heat sensitive. They will melt on you if you leave them in your hot trunk or hot bag. BUT.... They do hold up well to multiple catches per bait. And hold up well to being dragged across sharp, rocky bottom structure. Just keep them out of the heat and you will be good to go!

I 'm a long time fan of Z- Man plastics. I feel they 're the best quality you can buy. I was a fan of the TubeZ, but I like the TicklerZ even better. I like that they have a solid body as opposed to a hollow body. The bait lasts longer and the short tentacles always have great action. paddle tail swimbaits rigged with a jig head are often the first baits i throw when fishing for bass. Just so happens it was the only bait i threw all day over the weekend. These produced hits from both largemouth bass and northern in ultra clear water and murky. I was using the sight flash color and it worked great. They do tear easy but are worth the constant action I have experience with them. I usually rig them with a 1/4 oz jig head with the hook through the top, works like a charm!

Bought and used these this past spring and caught a lot of bass. Easy to rig and use on leadhead jigs. Soft, so they have great action. Only problem is that the tails get bitten off easily. The package says they are squid scented. Apparently fresh water fish like that scent. After catching the bass in the photo, my friend also caught a 2+ pound trout! A tad pricey, but they catch fish, so worth it.

I bought a bag of this bait at my local dicks store last week. I fish regularly on Cayuga lake which is located in the finger lakes in NY. I purchased some minnow soft baits as an alternative bait to my Berkley grub baits. I had lots of success in catching some fish including some blue gill, perch, and large mouth. I also caught tons! and tons! of gobies where I fished. These things have huge mouths and love the scented bait. I was only fishing of a dock so I did n't get the full experience of using this bait on a boat or kayak. I found that using a smaller hook worked well in catching the fish near me. I hooked the bait through the head and out the bottom similar to a carolina rig. The bait works well even after a few fish are caught and the bait is broken down. I suggest throwing the bait back in the back once finished so it can redial up the liquid in the gulp bag. All in all decent bait for a good price.

I like Gulp because they are always in my box and I do n't waste an hour getting live bait. When fish are biting they are actually better than live shrimp because they stay on the hook longer and are not bitten off. You can also cast them further without them flying off like live shrimp often do. But honistly they are not quite as good as live shrimp when the bite is off, when the fishing is slow. But all in all I love these things and use them more often than live shrimp because they work most of the time and sometimes even better than live bait.
