I 've used different colors but yellow body with a silver blade and black with a gold blade( 1/8 th oz) seem to work the best for me in creeks and ponds. I tie a tiny barrel swivel with a clip directly on to my line( 10 lbs. braid) and attach the lure to the clip. Simple lure, casts and retrieves well, good construction. Explosive hits. Fun to use.

The two stocked ponds in my region that have Brown Trout are being caught solely on this lure. The other spinners are not catching them. I presume it is the larger weight that keeps the lure low to the bottom where the larger trout are located. The yellow and gold color seems to be preferred by Brown Trout and they attack this lure with sheer aggression that compels me to think this is not all about hunger, but also the trout are territorial. This lure is catching Brown Trout throughout the day when live bait and other lures simply are not working. I also think this the unusual hook configuration with the treble hook off at the side and the treble hook wobbles and gyrates through the retrieve so it has more chance of getting a solid strike. Other spinners are getting hits and misses. I highly recommend this lure.

After that, all I used were these lures and caught all day long! Pulled some nice fish out of heavy weeds with the lure. It tends to run high so a slower retrieve usually does the trick. I have caught Walleye, Muskie, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike with this lure. Only negative is paint on the head and spinner comes off easily and the ring that holds the blade on failed causing blade to come off on a cast. Used the lure for three years before that happened...
