White Mountains 21°F with 5- 10mph winds these gloves worked well as long as you keep active. My fingers were cool but not freezing cold( without liner gloves). My hands did not sweat like in normal gloves. People expecting toasty warm fingers might want to pair these gloves with a thin liner glove. These gloves are thicker than a liner glove but thin and light enough to fit in your jacket pocket. Sizing is perfect. In most gloves a Med is tight but fits perfectly and a Large leaves extra room in the finger tips. These gloves in Med fit almost perfect and leave room for a light weight liner glove.

Very comfy, i just hope it will last. Color is great.

[ To be honest if you think you can use those gloves on a cold weather, you can but you MUST do an activity( run or walk) to keep your hands warm in order to have the omi- heat technology to work, those gloves are not for cold weather but you can use them for hiking or temperature over 20F

5 Garett M.
My son is on snow, 4+ days a week. He ’s blown through a number of other gloves that are more expensive than the spark. I wear other Black Diamond mittens that have always been durable, warm, and comfortable. I ’ m anticipating that these will last longer than other more expensive gloves that my son has worn. Black Diamond makes great product.

5 Mackenzie W.
I ’ ve only bought this pair because my 5 year old pair was stolen. Through probably 40+ patrol days a year and countless ski and touring days these are consistently the best moderate cold gloves I ’ ve ever had. The leather is durable and the insulation is perfect. It ’s an excellent glove. Only con: BD gloves tend to fit a bit big for the size and it isn ’ t consistent across all gloves. Best to try before you order

5 Stephen B.
Hands down these are the best gloves I ’ ve ever worn. I ’ ve had other name brand gloves but the quality of these surpass every other brand.

5 MICHAEL M.
I use these gloves for projects where i need the dexterity of fingers. Like the spark mitts, these had a tight wrist area to keep the snow and cold out and warm and roomy finger area. Also like the leash strap on each glove so they hang off your wrist when you take them off.( No more losing them in the snow)

5 John D.
I mostly use these for winter backcountry skiing. Easy to get on and off. Warm enough and lots of dexterity. Very durable.

These gloves remind me of TNF stuff from the 80's, amazing quality and thoughtful design with high end materials.

5 Gichan
These gloves keep your hand dried very well. I have n't used under several weather yet, so I am not sure about waterproof from rain& snow yet. I used these at 10~15 degrees C, and my hands held some sweat. These gloves alone would be good between- 10~10 degree C. You would need extra thermal gears under- 10C. I felt the size runs a little large as I break in. You could do half size down if you want tight fits.

I do love the new gloves. I used the size chart and I feel like the XL was the right size for me. The look and material are of a high quality. They keep me warm in cold conditions skiing. I love these gloves, they are so warm! I use them on their own hiking while splitboarding and as a liner for really cold days in the resort. The Small size fit my small hands very well... I have borderline kid size hands and they still fit me pretty well. I was able to use my phone with the gloves on my hands. Highly recommended if you want warm hands!

5 L
I was expecting those gloves to be good, but they absolutely exceeded my expectations. The first time I wore them, I was outside for six hours in steady rain and near- freezing temperatures. My hands were the driest part of me. Not that these are waterproof- they aren't- but the grid fleece on the backs of the hands wicks and breathes so well that my body heat dried the gloves faster than they could get wet. My hands stayed warm and dry, and the fingers were still dextrous enough that I could work outside. Love these and will be buying more, plus anything else made of Vigor Plus fleece that I can get my hands on. Big improvement in fit over the previous year's model as well.

5 Daniel P

Took these on trail and they kept my fingers warm in a cold rain. I like the fit, the feel, but glad it did not rain the next day because they did not dry fast at all. Did not expect waterproof of course, but was hoping they would be useful again without a dryer. Taking something else for days long hiking next time, but these are still nice, keeping for different scenarios, hikes closer to home.

I am a mail carrier and I recently purchased these to wear while working. They really work well, I can use them on low and they keep my hands plenty warm.( keep in mind I am walking while wearing them so I am generating some heat, I do n't know how well they would work if you were sitting) Since these are thicker, sorting the mail takes a bit to get used to but it's worth it. The battery does not last all day so I did purchase the extra battery pack. Only cons are that the sizing was not right for me. My hand measures 7. 5 '' so I ordered the large but they are too big. I ended up getting them in medium and they are much better. Also, the button to turn them on and change the temp is easy to use but if you need to shut them off, you have to unplug the battery to get them to turn back on again. It's not convenient having to take the gloves off but it is minor since they actually keep my hands warm!

5 george
practical simple and useful, I would recommend For activities that require more dexterity

5 Bob
Perfect for my morning walks when it is bone chilling cold. A must have for me as I have Raynaud's disease

5 Willa
I bought these for my husband by mistake. I thought these were the glove liners, but they are a different glove. he likes these anyway. Very warm and he says the palms have some grippy material on it for his steering wheel does n't slip out of his hands. the length is very long and fits over his snow jacket and tightens down. I think he's going to buy the women's for me for Mothers Day.

5 neal
As the name suggests, they are not very thick. So if you are looking for a heavy- duty snow glove, this is not the right option for you. But if you are looking for a thinner glove that gives you greater dexterity, look no further

I have used these for several storms while shoveling and snowblowing snow. They have a great shell that is definitely waterproof therefore keeping my fingers dry and warm. They are quite pricey but needed for this part of the country.

5
Keeps the hands perfectly warm... would definitely recommend. The only part that i think is unnecessary is the thin elastic at the end of the gloves which apparently is there to tighten the end. Does n't function much.

5 jazzyone
I 've used these gloves while using the snow blower at zero degrees Fahrenheit, they kept my hands warm for thee 30 minutes I used them. They are comfortable and light weight.

5 Mad Bear
I really enjoyed the warmth and comfort of the glove.

5 Central Minnesotian
Seems a lot of gloves are very expensive these days. These gloves were on sale and not anywhere near the top of the price scale. But I have found them to be very comfortable and effective when out using my snowblower, where my hands typically get cold.

5 Mom of 2 from MA
Bought for husband when outside particularly when using the snow blower. Has worn them outside but it hasn ’ t been insanely cold yet, only in the mid 20s. So not really tested in a true New England snow storm. So far so good.

I previously owned golding rocker chairs and they are showing their age. I have seen the exact chairs at a few different place we shop. I decided to go back to Dicks for the chairs because in my opinion they have a better selection than most. Dick ’s had numerous styles and colors to pick from. Plus of course alot of the Texans merchandise was on sell do I had to indulge myself.

4 Nuclearbob
I needed a pair of gloves for the sub zero weather we have been having here in Illinois. I did not want mittens and wanted a durable pair for the Shoveling, snowblowing and car pushing out of the snow banks. Kept the hands warm, the palms of the gloves still look brand new. Sometimes, paying a little is just the right move.

I think these are great gloves… I had tried my daughters pair that had the different grip than these ones and really liked them so ordered these ones so they wouldn ’ t be entirely the same. These ones have dots on the palms instead. I consider myself to have bigger sized hands so sized up to a large. I definitely should ’ ve gotten the med! The fingers are too long for me and look funny to me. So I ’ m definitely just going to exchange for the med! They ’ re very frilly and work great on my iPhone. Just be careful with sizing! The med feel sung but not too tight. I had to pull them over my hands which is why I sized up thinking they ’ d just be slightly bigger. Overall I recommend these gloves!

These gloves( small men's size on a large woman's hand) fit really well from the start and needed almost no break- in. What with the cold and the wet weather, clearing off cars, dragging trash cans around, lugging the groceries- you name it- these gloves have held up, and kept my hands warm and dry. Not fancy looking, but as my mother used to say, `` You 're not going to a fashion show. ''

I could n't decide between the snow gloves and the premium gloves and just decided to try the cheaper ones first to see if they heated up enough for a Wisconsin winter. Yuppers, they do. So with the money I saved not buying the snow gloves, I got some more 5volt batteries, so my hands do n't every get cold if I can help it. Shoveling snow or brushing off my car I wear these gloves and they have n't let me down yet.

5 Jamie
I usually buy the Grabber hand warmers during the winter in order to slip them inside my gloves to keep my hands warm. When I saw these heated gloves in the store, I thought it was such a clever idea. It saves me money and I feel better about not using so many disposable hand warmers. The battery packs are slim and not even noticeable inside the zippered pocket on the cuffs. They are convenient and easy to use and recharge.

5 Cassidy
I wanted to try a set of battery heated gloves that heat fingers, and you can definitely feel the heat in these gloves. I have poor circulation around my hands, so the heating from these gloves helped a lot.

I work outside throughout the winter and the hardest thing to do is keep my fingers warm when it gets 20 degrees or less. I decided to try these mittens for the times I do n't need fingers( gloves). They are excellent. I added a Hot Hands hand warmer to each mitten and they kept my fingers toasty. I could even take the mittens off, use my fingers to put some nuts on bolts, and put the mittens back on.... No problem. No more painfully cold fingers.

5 KMRM
Finally found a pair of mittens that have a removable liner( for washing) that stays put when you put mittens on and off. Fleece liner is comfortable, not bunchy, and so warm. Cuffs are comfortable and make these extra warm. Adjustable strap makes the fit just right. I have very cold hands and these are the best mittens I 've found. Also love the tough exterior on the palm side-- seem like they will be long lasting. Hestra is my new favorite brand-- I also bought the white leather ones for cross- country skiing.

Frequently Asked Questions For Best Winter Sports Gloves

When searching for winter sports gloves, consider features such as insulation for warmth, waterproof or water-resistant materials to keep your hands dry, and breathability to prevent moisture buildup. Look for gloves with a secure fit, which can enhance dexterity and grip, especially for activities like skiing or snowboarding. Additionally, touchscreen compatibility can be a useful feature for staying connected without removing your gloves.

To determine the right size for winter sports gloves, start by measuring the circumference of your hand just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Use a measuring tape or a piece of string to get the measurement, then compare it to the sizing chart provided by the manufacturer. Additionally, consider the length of your fingers, as some gloves may have specific sizing for finger length. Trying on gloves with the intended base layers can also help ensure a proper fit for comfort and dexterity.

High-quality winter sports gloves are often made from a combination of materials designed to provide warmth, comfort, and protection. Common materials include synthetic fabrics that offer water resistance and breathability, as well as insulation materials that help retain heat. Additionally, many gloves feature durable outer layers, such as nylon or polyester, to withstand harsh weather conditions. Some gloves may also incorporate specialized membranes for enhanced waterproofing and windproofing.

Yes, there are gloves specifically designed for various winter sports activities. For skiing and snowboarding, gloves often feature insulation and waterproof materials to keep hands warm and dry. Other gloves may be tailored for activities like snowshoeing or ice fishing, focusing on dexterity and grip. It's important to choose gloves that match the specific demands of your chosen winter sport for optimal performance and comfort.

Insulation and waterproofing are crucial factors that enhance the performance of winter sports gloves. Insulation helps retain warmth by trapping body heat, which is essential for comfort during cold weather activities. Waterproofing prevents moisture from entering the gloves, keeping hands dry and maintaining dexterity in wet conditions. Together, these features ensure that gloves provide both warmth and protection, allowing for better performance in various winter sports.

Gloves and mittens serve different purposes in winter sports, primarily in terms of warmth and dexterity. Gloves have individual finger compartments, allowing for greater dexterity and grip, which is beneficial for activities that require fine motor skills, such as adjusting equipment. Mittens, on the other hand, keep fingers together, providing more warmth as they share body heat, making them ideal for extremely cold conditions. Choosing between them depends on the specific needs of the activity and the climate.

To ensure your winter sports gloves provide maximum comfort and dexterity, look for gloves made from flexible materials that allow for a good range of motion. Features such as adjustable cuffs can help create a snug fit, preventing cold air from entering while maintaining dexterity. Additionally, consider gloves with insulation that balances warmth without adding bulk, allowing for better grip and control during activities. Finally, selecting gloves with moisture-wicking properties can help keep your hands dry and comfortable throughout your winter sports experience.

When choosing winter sports gloves for extreme weather conditions, consider the insulation and waterproofing features to keep your hands warm and dry. Look for materials that provide breathability while also offering protection against wind and moisture. Additionally, consider the fit and dexterity of the gloves, as a snug fit can enhance grip and control during activities. Finally, think about any specific features you may need, such as touchscreen compatibility or reinforced palms for added durability.

To determine if winter sports gloves are durable enough for regular use, consider the materials and construction quality. Look for gloves made from robust fabrics that can withstand harsh weather conditions and frequent wear. Reinforced stitching and features like waterproofing can also enhance durability. Additionally, reading user reviews can provide insights into how well the gloves hold up over time in various winter sports activities.

To maintain the performance of winter sports gloves, it is important to clean them regularly according to the manufacturer's instructions. Avoid using harsh detergents, as they can damage the materials and reduce insulation. After use, allow the gloves to air dry completely, avoiding direct heat sources, which can compromise their structure. Additionally, store them in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture buildup and preserve their functionality.
