One of the best mountaineering pants you can get- durable, breathable, and yet still warm at any altitude. These are my go- to pants for many PNW mountain treks( Mt Adams, Middle Sister, Mt. Hood, etc). The fit is fairly true- to- size, but I would have expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I 'm usually a 32 in most clothing, and M's feel a bit tight. There's plenty of stretch in the legs which makes for easily climbing, but the waist can definitely be a bit annoying. It's not enough to take away from how great these are, but something to consider if you 're on the border of sizes.

Packs a lot of warmth for not being baggy and hugs tighter to the leg without being constricting or feeling like running tights, this allows you to layer thermals underneath it for the really cold runs. After being pleased with my MH shell, I decided to try these bibs and so glad I did. So far they 've been worn skiing and snowmobiling in various conditions, from 28 degrees and snowing 2 '' an hour, pouring rain, and cold dry single digit weather. The waterproofing is superior, and blocks the wind well enough. The fabric is comfortable and does n't feel constricting. I 'm 5' 2 '', about 130 lbs, with pretty beefy legs and butt. The medium short is definitely roomy, which is what I wanted to allow for layering and freedom of movement. I LOVE that there are options for length. This should be standard in the industry! The leg pockets fit a phone perfectly and have stayed waterproof. The chest pockets are more for sunglasses, chapstick etc, and not a phone, but you should n't have your phone right next to your beacon anyways. The zipper works well enough for peeing. It's a pretty easy process. Overall, this bib is just a great no- nonsense product that does exactly what you need it to do: Keep you dry and comfortable.

Finding pants in any outdoor brand is a challenge because sizing is still skewed towards more petite women. I am 5' 6, 140 lb, hourglass shaped with a 32D bust, 27 '' waist and 39 '' hips and athletically built thighs. I ordered a medium tall and the 34 '' inseam is actually perfect and just hits the floor without shoes on. Pros: Built- in cinch belt around waist- this is a genius add! High front pocket allows to sit comfortably over the chest while keeping the girls secured and the straps flat over the traps Overall really comfortable pant Cons: Drop seat zipper is only on* one* side. It does not have the dual zippers I was expecting. This feature was why I ultimately went with Mountain Hardwear and I think an added zipper would make this pant 5 stars.
