I bought these for my daughter this Christmas because she had outgrown her youth Yukon Charlie snowshoes. She wore those for about four years, and they were great, so we moved up to these. At first we were concerned about by women's for an 11- year old, but we wanted something that would last. The tapered tail and narrow frame work great for her. And she absolutely loves the bindings( and so do I). She can finally do them herself instead of me having to fasten the clip bindings of her old ones. She enjoyed using the heel lifts for some of our back country snowshoeing. A great product( and pretty too)!

[ I tried to hold of reviewing this item as long as I could, due to the kids needing some snow to review them. But unfortunately, the timing these arrived, here in my area, we have n't had no snow!! We were suppose to get some snow yesterday, and all we got was snow mixed with rain, which caused ice to form instead, which unfortunately was n't enough to have them test them out. But what I can say about them, they fit all three of my kids, they are made well and are super fun, very bright and fun colors, which make them wearable for both boys and girls! They all said they ca n't wait for next year when they all have enough snow on the ground to give them a fair chance to use them and enjoy them. [ My 7 year old is in love with these snowshoes and trekking poles. We live in the northeast. Our winters are long and we get plenty of snow. These snowshoes make for a safe outdoor activity that is both kid and parent approved. The snowshoes themselves are very sturdy and light weight. There are some sharp metal grips underneath that you have to be careful with, but they will give you excellent traction in icy conditions or going up hills. The straps are large enough to go over snow boots. They ’ re also very easy to take on and off. My 7 year old can do it by himself. The two trekking poles compliment the snowshoes well. The poles are adjustable in length. Two snaps are all you need to adjust and secure the length in place. The poles are light weight as well and provide extra balance, especially for those new to snow shoeing. A convenient carry bag is also included. It ’s plenty large enough to store both snowshoes and trekking poles. It ’s perfect for traveling or just storing them away for the summer. Overall, I ’ m very please with these Sno- Bash youth snowshoes and trekking poles. They ’ re easy for my kids to use and make for a great outdoor winter activity. My kids love them as well as it provides them with a sense of independence and exploration. I would recommend them to others.

Tried out two miles on a frozen lake in these, and they were great! Lightweight, which is necessary for carrying 10 min on a walk to the trail. Bindings felt secure and my feet did n't slip out at all. Have yet to try the poles, but they seem sturdy! Good workout!

The very first trip with these snowshoes was on Mt. Saint Helens in pretty deep and fresh powder-- they were great. The poles are tough and the snow baskets stayed on with no problems. The storage/ carry bag is just the right size to fit the snowshoes, poles, baskets and gaiters. This is my second pair of Womens Lightening Ascent Snowshoes. I purchased the first pair when they first came out and used them for many years. I replaced the bindings on the old snowshoes and still have them as a backup pair but they are 25 inch models and I wanted the shorter version; so, I purchased a new pair. The new snowshoes have an easier to use binding than the old ones and the heel lift seems to be places in a better location for smaller feet on the shorter snowshoe. Other than the improvements to the new model they are still the best snowshoes I have ever used. It is important to get the narrower women's model if you are a small person. I have tried the men's model and they were too wide and more difficult to travel in. I a 5' 2 '' tall with short legs. I have had minimal issues with snow balling up and secure grip on steep icy terrain. I am a big fan of these shoes.

Over the Summer I learned how to paddle board and never got off the water... this winter I was looking for something to do to get outside.... with all the snow we have gotten I tried to find cross country skis... no luck... so I opted for snow shoes... again hard to come by but Dicks had these in stock! SOOOO Great! Easy to use- I throw them on over my snow boots and head out to the local parks and golf courses... The Spin binding is fantastic and super quick to get in and out of. I do carry a little utility tool to tighten the bolts on the poles which can occasionally come loose.

For the price, these snowshoes are great! They were comfortable. They fit my boots well and were snug even those the strings on the tightening mechanism are quite thin. When I initially put the snowshoes on I was concerned about their quality, but so far they have last for about an hour- long hike in heavy snow. The bindings are easy to use. I currently weigh about 190 lbs and I am 5 ft 10 in, they kept me in the top inch or two of snow, but I definitely did n't `` float '' on top as I have in other snowshoes in the past. I think they might work a bit better if I were about 20 lbs lighter.

1st time snowshoeing, so not a lot to compare to. These have been fun to wear, short learning curve in combination with YouTube training videos. Opted for the spin dial on the binding and I think it works great. Quick in and out. Though the binding tie seems thin, it's been working well and does n't seem over stressed. I feel confident it will hang in there. I 'll report back if not. I have some concerns about the back ankle strap. It plastic, seems strong, but I 've had some trouble keeping it secure around the back of my boot. Knowing this I 'm putting extra effort working with adjusting and clamping the closure and clips. I started securing higher up on the back of my ankle. The last couple times used, they 've loosened some, but did not fall down. That clamp closure probably could be replaced with something a little larger. I think the strap is a bit too thick for the current strap used. Traction is great. I bought 21s being a beginner, but I 'm on the border of 28s( online recommendatiion, start lower). Kind of wish I would have bought 28s. I do n't think these are at all heavy or overly awkward. Being it was an easier than expected learning curve, if you are right at one size vs the other, go with the larger size. I can see myself probably needing to buy a pair of 28s if I do serious off trail exploring. Which I hope to.

I purchased the advanced series snowshoe in a kit with poles& a bag from my local sporting goods store. I have the 21 '' size. I have used them several times to walk in a hilly park near our house to keep up my love of walking in the snowy winter. I enjoy being out on them immensely. They are very easy to get on and off over my boots. Once the heel fitting is set it really is just a quick pull on the brackets over the toe and I 'm on my way. I also really like the pop- up heel frame that helps you walk up inclines much easier. Very nice feature! I find the poles to be helpful for balance and great to boost all over aerobic exercise too.
