Where I live( Washington DC) we do n't get crazy amounts of snow, but we will have the occasional winter storm and get 6- 10 inches or so. I needed a boot to keep my feet warm and dry when I walk my dog, run errands, etc. But I did n't need super heavy duty boot to shovel snow in. I chose this because I liked that the shaft was n't too high, so I could still wear it with most of my pants. We just had a winter storm. The snow was deep enough that it covered my entire boot and yet they kept my feet SUPER warm and I did n't feel slippery when walking on ice. The waterproof material kept my feet dry, and they are also SUPER CUTE! I am a true 7. 5( according to the size chart; my feet are 24 cm), but I still ordered a size 8 based on reviews saying it ran small, and I think I made the right decision. I think if I ordered my exact size I would n't have room to wear thick socks.

Finally got my boots delivered today after a long shipping delay. My review is two fold: Boot quality: 5 stars. Seems super warm, and well constructed. Can ’ t wait to get these out in the snow and give them a real test, but I fully expect them to be a quality boot. Dick ’s quality control: the boots arrived in a box that had been torn and taped back together. Not a big deal, but…. The boot liners had a bunch of animal fur stuck in them, and all over the outside soles. Clearly someone had bought this exact pair before, tried them on, possibly used them, and decided to return them for whatever reason. It ’s very obvious that I didn ’ t get a “ new ” product. I sometimes buy previously used items, but only when I know that I ’ m buying used and can inspect the product first, and usually at a discount. I was fully expecting ” new ” here as It wasn ’ t indicated anywhere that I was getting a used or returned product and I didn ’ t get that. So 2 stars to Dick ’s for not being up front on the condition of what they ’ re selling, or checking the condition of the returns they ’ re reselling. I ’ m not disappointed in the product, hence why I ’ m actually leaving 5 stars, just in Dick ’s quality control and product clarity. This isn ’ t a deal breaker this time… I ’ m still keeping the boots, but now I have to spend time de- fur- ing them first.

They are a bit big and run wide especially in the heel area, and I probably could ’ ve gotten away with an 8. I kept them because I ’ d rather be able to wear thick socks and not have anything start to rub my feet uncomfortably after a while. I have used them a few times and they shed snow and water, and keep my feet pretty warm. The `` speedlacing system '' is a nice perk-- it means( I think) that there is an extra tab that holds the lace on the lower part of the boot tightly, so you can tighten the lower half and it will stay tight while you adjust and tie the upper half.

I bought these boots due to online reviews, and they were on sale, making it a double bonus. They have a thick inner liner that keeps your feet warm but are very snug! I would have gone with the next size up if I had known. Still breaking them in, so as far as durability, I will find out. My last pair, Sorel, held up for almost 30 years so I 'm hoping these will be my last snow boot purchase! So far they are decent. I would recommend they switch to quick lace hooks, rather than the eyelets.

Got these for my 7- year- old and after two snowstorms-- and day- long sledding adventures-- she loves them. The rubber exterior feels almost like silicone rubber and stays flexible even in sub- zero weather, they have generous insulation inside, and thoughtful touches like a low- friction liner( making them easy to pull on and off) and an internal snow skirt with elastic pull cord to keep the insides dry.
