They provide enough flotation in deep snow, great traction going up and down steep ice crusted trails and are narrow for easy shoeing on narrow

Really enjoy these snowshoes... excellent traction, good on steeper slopes, icy surfaces, bright colour. They have stood up very well.

Bought these as soon as they came out because I saw a prototype at the Banff Mt. Film Festival last year and have coveted them ever since. I LOVE them! Had a pair of Lightning Ascents before, but hated the 3- strap bindings-- hard to get on and off, did n't stay on. The ratchets are perfect. They never come off in use-- but are easy to put on and take off when I want to. Only problem I had was during wet borderline freezing conditions, one ratchet buckle froze up-- but easy enough to wiggle around and get it working again. These have become my go- to snowshoes-- and I have many pairs of other styles.

Seriously one well built snowshoe system. Lightweight but the frame is a beast. The decking and bindings, use and time will tell, but both appear solid. The revised HyperLink Binding is the primary reason I chose this shoe. Ease of entry and how well they hold to my boot is outstanding. But the most significant improvement over my old shoes is the entire binding `` '' tracks '' ''; there is little lateral movement, making them so much more comfortable and efficient. The 360 Traction Frame is grippy as you could possibly need. But it also allows for a more even foot placement on packed and uneven trails. Tube frames lay on the contour of the crunchy stuff while the Traction Frame cuts through and sets more evenly. It's kind of a big deal. 240 pounds with a 30 '' '' shoe. Would not want to go smaller, and there is no need to. Really easy to maneuver. Larger shoes carry so much better in the deep stuff, so I would advocate going larger if you are in doubt. Because there is not much more weight between lengths and maneuverability is not compromised.

Very lightweight. Bindings are easy to get in/out of and adjust to size.

I really like 'em. My first choice for most conditions. Add the tails next. I like the simple but efficient harness system. Easier than Boa! So maneuverable. Nothing grips better than MSR. They shed the sticky snow quite nicely as well. I like the lightweight design. In extremely deep powder or super soft conditions, I go back to my Tubbs 9X36 '' ''. They feel like clubs after using the MSR's, but the extra surface is sometimes nice.

I love how quiet they are compared to hard plastic shoes. ... I would highly recommend this product. ... No more sliding up and down the hills for us and excellent floatation through the deep

Unbeatable traction and extremely lightweight. It almost feels like there's nothing on your feet.

These rock. Did a long 7 hour hike, lots of steep icey grades, mixed snow, work better than expected. I would highly recommend this product.

I bought the lightning accents for work and pleasure uses. I love how quiet they are compared to hard plastic shoes. The bindings keep my foot secure and the heel bar is much appreciated when going up steep grades.

I have taken these snowshoes out on 2 trips. One was 2 1/2 hours and the other was 3 1/2 hours. They performed great and would recommend these to anyone who is active in the winter outdoors! The one issue I had and it was n't much, was that the straps kept coming out of the little clips that hold them once you tighten them up. They never came apart, it is just the straps were loose a lot of the time, even though I would re- engage them??
