My kids and I love our hats for a couple of reasons. First, they are so light that we do n't feel like we are even wearing a hat that gives great sun coverage, but we are! Second, my kids are able to get great sun coverage with comfort. In the past most of the hats they wore had brims in the back too. This would cause them to have to take the hats off when they sat in their cars seats, etc. Now they keep them on and they stay on because of the flat feature in the back of these hats! Great design! My head is too large for `` one- size '' hats, but my extra- large head AND my ponytail can fit inside the extra- large size of this. I also love the extra- wide brim, which easily keeps my entire head and neck in the shade during the brightest hours of the day. Large hats can act like a sail in windy conditions, but the adjustable chin and crown straps are super helpful to comfortably keep this hat on. I love that it folds in half and fits neatly inside a tote bag or hiking backpack, since my previous wide- brimmed hat was ruined by my unofficial folding/stashing methods. A+++ work!

Been wearing this hat hiking in the desert for probably five years. Wo n't hit the trail without it. Wicks away sweat very well and is very cool. I have washed this hat literally dozens of times which is why it does n't seem to have the SPF factor it once had. been getting sunburned on my head lately. So, after five years I am buying the same hat again! BTW, I bought two hats. One medium, one large. At 7 1/8 '' hat size the medium was too small. Would n't change a thing.

I love wearing this hat. I am a letter carrier and have a walking route so I use it for head/face protection. I have washed it a few times and dried it in accordance with the instructions each time. The last time I washed it and was drying it by way of the instructions but I got a little inpatient and decided to throw it in the dryer with air dry. I could not believe it but it still shrunk. So my next one will be dried by there recommendation.

I bought the clear creek boonie for myself and liked it so much that I got my 3 year old daughter one too. She loves it! She was pretty excited to have matching hats. She also likes the chin strap because she's always worried about her hats blowing off on the boat. I like that it covers her neck and shoulders so it keeps more of her protected from the Florida sun. I 've washed it a few times in the machine on gentle cycle then hung to dry and it washes just fine. [ I bought this hat in the pewter color last August as an alternative to the usual baseball hat style I 'd wear for days fishing on the beach and it has become more favorite hat because it's so light and breathable, but still offers 50 UPF protection for my head, especially my ears and face, which the ball cap never did. Leave your heavy cotton baseball caps home and get this hat for going to the beach or doing anything in the hot sun- no more sweaty brow or head, it's amazing how comfortable this thing is. I bought a second one in khaki for trout fishing. My wife even bought the women's version, called the Solar Roller hat and she loves it too.
