I have been using a good mat for yoga, though basic, it has helped me 6 months in my practice. This Manduka mat is really worth the price since it has enough cushioning, not so much that makes one lose balance but good for a head stand. Also, it has a great grip for positions when you press hard with hands and feet. It is long enough for me to fit laying down and it is n't that heavy. A very good product overall, I highly recoment it for anyone who practices yoga or even other sports.

It ’s more expensive than your average mat, but it ’s the one that has performed the best for me. It ’s tacky and holds up to heavier use( i. e. hot yogas and/or bikram). It is higher maintenance than your cheaper,$ 10 mats, but those mats also don ’ t last very long and contribute extra to the landfill. This is the best yoga mat I have ever owned! It is very grippy in my vinyasa class and I always feel secure and confident on my mat during heated classes and doing balance work. The purple mat is a beautiful color and wipes clean with a damp rag. The mat does smell a little like rubber when you first get it, but that dissipates in about a week. I love this mat. So grippy and supportive. As someone who is fairly bony I ’ ve had a lot of issues finding a mat I like that I can spend time on my knees or other bony joints. This mat allowed me to get through an entire practice with no pain, even when placed directly on my hardwood floors. It ’s cushy yet very supportive. My only complaint is that the material attracts EVERYTHING. After my practice I can see every hair, piece of lint, dust and everywhere my dry winter skin touched the mat. But hey it ’s worth wiping off every time anyway, just never have seen what gets left behind on the mat every time.

This is a very good non- slip mat. The mat performs incredibly well out of the box, especially if you are used to the standard issue$ 20-$ 30 mats out there. This one is about 5 steps above those for about 2. 5x the price, meaning: it's a worth it! My hands and feet never slid using this mat, until I wore out the top layer. I 've owned mine for about a year, and only now am I facing the fact that it's time to say adieu. I used it pretty heavily, 3- 4 times per week for Ashtanga and higher- level vinyasa classes. Over time the coating wore off in areas of heavy use, like where I put my hands in down dog, and in those areas now it is very slippery. But hey, I got a year of use out of mine, so I ca n't complain.
