[ I love this jacket. It's a perfect weight to layer warmth underneath, or keep yourself cool on warm rainy days. It fits beautifully. I prefer light colors for visibility in stormy conditions, so I got the white/tan one. The internal drawstring at the waist is flattering. The hood WILL NOT blow down in wind. I wish they did n't use so much velcro on the front tab covering the zipper, but I do like the low profile effect of it, so it's a wash. I am 5' 8 '', 125# and I got the small.

[ I had another Columbia Rain jacket and left if on a plane. I researched many rain jackets for what I wanted and ended up going with Columbia again. I wanted it `` longish '', rain proof of course but also warm, zippered deep pockets, and a nice hood with good fastening abilities around the face. This is a great waterproof, wind blocking rain coat. I have already worn it quite a few times. Strong Velcro too. Pros: I ’ m 5 ’ 125- 130 lb. It is not too long on me. Which is a problem when you are short. Sits just below the hips. Velcro on the sleeves cuffs is a plus because the arms are a little long& it keeps the wind out. Ordered a medium& can still wear a light weight sweater under it. Cons: Would be nice if it had a two way zipper for getting in& out of car& an inside pocket.

I am so happy I got this coat for the torrential rains that are happening in California right now. I usually wear a medium... sized up to a large and I am glad I did. The sleeves are long enough to hide my cold hands and I 'm able to wear layers underneath for warmth. It still looks good. My L covers my butt( 5' 6 '', 34DD, short arms, 145 lbs.) I think Colombia is the only one that makes a fleece lined raincoat and I absolutely love it for cold rain. You CAN layer in other rain coats but when you just want a quick trip to take the dogs out in the rain in the cold weather nothing beats a warm rain coat when you don ’ t need a heavy winter coat. I got this for an upcoming trip to Ireland. I am 5' 1 '' and a size 25 waist but I got a size S so I can still wear sweaters underneath. It's so cute and exactly what I was looking for! So far I 've worn it during heavy rain while walking my dog and I stayed completely dry. I like the little flap on the hood so rain does n't get in your face as easily. I like the adjustable waist and hood. I would 've preferred buttons or some other way to secure the front flap as opposed to the velcro but it is n't that big of a deal to me. It feels well made and is warm without making me hot. It does look like a heavier coat because of the insolation but it's pretty light.

I am obsessed with the Bessie Packable Jacket. It ’s everything I didn ’ t know I needed — lightweight, incredibly warm for how thin it is, and so easy to travel with. I love how it packs into itself and even turns into a pillow( seriously genius for flights or road trips). Love how they have you put in your height and weight for the right size. When I first opened it the jacket was so light I thought there was no way it would keep me warm but I was wrong. The Omni heat for me is a 10 out of 10. Now they need some more glove options with Omni heat.

[ I have a few rocklin full zip fleeces that I had bought a few years ago, and I have worn them quite a bit. So, when I saw the Black Friday sale I decided it was time for some new ones. This is a different fleece jacket altogether, and actually I like it better. The contrast trim is very attractive, and the new Rocklin is a heavier weigh. For anyone who has the older rocklin fleece jacket this one is sized larger. I initially bought a size small, and that one is big enough to be an outer jacket in warmer weather. I bought this for a trip to Paris, France and Tromso, Norway. I also bought the men's version for my son. I wore it as an outer layer in Paris( highs were low 50s). It rained a bit, and I was happy with the waterproof material. In Tromso, I wore it as a mid- layer under a thermal suit. We were in the Arctic Circle in freezing temperatures to see the Northern Lights. It compressed well and was not bulky to pack. You can also use it as a pillow( it can fold within itself). The jacket is lightweight and is thin. It's not a bulky, puffy jacket. If you 're looking for a slightly heavier jacket, then the next weight up is the Lätt( X- Lätt is this lighter one). Although I got it to travel, I still wear it on the `` cold '' days in Florida because it is so cozy. I 've washed it a few times with no issues. It's European sizing, so consider the next size up.

This is a simple, very lightweight windbreaker, that packs into its pocket. It's somewhat water resistant, and dries quickly, but not waterproof. It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. It weighs almost nothing and when it's in it's pocket turned carry pouch, it's about the size of a 3 x 5 card and about an 1 '' thick. It even fits in a purse, a fanny pack, and many hydration packs. I always have one on my boats, whether sailing or rowing/kayaking and have been glad to have it hold in my body heat on a chilly airplane, or as a paper thin layer for skiing, both downhill and crosscountry. I bought this for my trip to Scotland and it performed well in the torrential rain and wind I experienced in the Hebrides. I only dislike 2 things about this: The first is the hood. There is not a drawstring to tighten the hood, and the it was no match for the gale force winds I experienced, and the embedded odor in the jacket material, despite several pre- departure washings, and hanging it separately from my other clothing. I just washed it again, twice, and the odor is still as strong and noxious as when I took it out of the packaging. Otherwise, I remained dry from the neck down, the jacket was very breathable, and I was covered to my knees and dry.

I have been on the hunt for a longer raincoat that covers my rear. I have a `` regular '' length Columbia raincoat that I love. This one is great and will be in heavy rotation. I got the Greenscape color. I am 5' 5 '' and wear a women's 16. I got an XXL to be able to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under it. It is generously sized. I might have been able to go XL. I knocked a star off for 2 things that others have raised here. The hood is pretty much useless as it either falls in your eyes or flops backwards. Point 2 is that in my other Columbia rain jacket you can tighten the cuffs with a strap to stop water or wind from blowing up your sleeve. The Weekend Adventure has one snap that tightens the cuff by about an inch. That is not going to keep water or wind out.

Loves: the fabric is top notch, it sheds water like nothing else and feels very durable. It does get hot when exerting, but the pit zips and mesh pockets work great and the jacket stays dry inside. Cons: Ca n't walk very comfortably in this, the collar is high and stiff and rubs my face constantly. So, not great for long hikes. But for everything else, this is a fantastic rain jacket. [ After having this puffy for a month, I 'm pretty happy with it. My job keeps me outside in all kinds of weather, so I have worn this puffy almost everyday so far this winter. I 've found that its best suited for 25- 45 degree weather. Anything above, and I get too hot! Anything below that range, and it is just cold enough that I would put on a thicker base layer underneath or wear a tougher shell over the puffy. Its great at cutting wind chill too. And with the fun heat seal part, I 'm excited to see how long this thing lasts with the activities I put through all my clothes!
