I bought this a couple weeks ago and love it. I recently sold my Ascend 12T after 6 years of use wanting something a little smaller and able to attach a trolling motor easily. This checked all the boxes l, the seat being able to fold down and get a better angle is awesome though I wish pelican used a little thicker foam for the top when its folded down because its quite uncomfortable. There are dedicated spots for a transuder but for some reason the holes on mine are very small compared to others thet I reviewed YouTube builds of this yak. Over all its very sturdy I stand up and fish without issues and its alot lighter then my ascend was.

This is my daughter's first kayak and I have to say, I was n't expecting her to be able to paddle very far before needing a tow. At five years old, she paddled over a mile on a large lake with a lunch and fishing stop half way through! This is actually the second one of these I have purchased, this one is for her six year old cousin's birthday so we can all go paddling this summer. Great first kayak for kids and very reasonable price:-)

Great for a 10 year old. easy for her to manage in small spaces. light enough that she can carry it herself down to the water.

Got two of these so the kids can kayak around the channel at our lake. They both love them. They 're easy for the kids to maneuver and if they fall off or tip over, the kids can get back up using the hand holds on the back. The paddles float in case the kids drop them in the water. The kayaks are light enough that my 50 lb. kid can pull it through the yard and out to the channel on his own. Great investment.

We got this for my 8- year old son and the first time out he was able to easily handle it, including using as a SUP. When he fell off, the design on the back allowed him to quickly pull himself back on with no problem. It's just light enough that he can even drag it to the water on his own if he wants. One accidental design feature is the holes near the seat intended for escape of water have been useful for him to place his fishing pole as he waits for the fish to bite! Highly recommend.

So happy with the purchase. Bought it for my daughter who just moved by Lake Russell. Love that it is blue. Only saw black and white on the Oru site. Only problem was the Fed Ex shipping. Got messages that this them was on the truck and out for delivery on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Finally it was delivered on Thursday but it was confusing. I thought it was lost in the system. A bit frustrating.

I purchased a Lake and Bay ST at the same time to replace my hard shells. I thought I would be using the Bay ST exclusively and I do love it. But I am surprised at how often I throw the Lake in the back of the car for those quick outings that still last hours. Lake is stable- the only water inside where I paddle is from my feet. It ’s a surprising boat I can set up in 1. 5 minutes and be in the water- If I can get past the other paddlers who want to see my backpack turn into a boat. Thanks for this great design.

[ Finally got out on the water with my new Koda Aero. A few things to note:- inflated very quickly with my electric pump. Have not tried it with the floor pump.- Carrying it down to the water about 75 yards was very manageable. Not too heavy.- I chose this boat because I wanted enough room for my 70lb dog too. She fit just fine behind the seat.- Very stable and smooth paddling on the water for a few hours- definitely need to pick up a few magnetic drink attachments! Extremely happy with this purchase.

5
My wife and I love to be on the water together and the Oru Haven has made it easy. I am a big guy@ 6 ’ 8 ” and 250 lbs. The listed height max for the Haven is 6 ’ 6 ”. I can tell you that I have no problem entering/exiting/paddling. The Haven tracks well in flat conditions and does surprising well when the wind is up. I sit in the aft seat and my 5 ’ 8 ” and 125lbs. wife sits forward. My size 16 feet rest just aft of the forward seat but are forward of the spreader bar at mid- ship.. I don ’ t need to bend my knees at all. The kayak is waterproof in flat water. Because the Haven has such a large open cockpit, we get water into the boat from paddle drip, rain and waves coming on the beam. We are working on a simple ‘ rain fly ’ idea( we are OCD about a wet boat). But, even the water that comes in from drips and rain isn ’ t an issue. The water stays under the orange floor boards so it doesn ’ t create any wet- butt issues while we are paddling. Folding and unfolding the hull is easy. The Oru video is helpful. But, they edited out the most critical element of how the boat goes together in the final fold. Fortunately, it only took us a few extra minutes to figure it out in our living room and now it is easy. Storage inside the hull is adequate. I appreciate how easy it is to carry a 40 lbs. tandem kayak over my shoulder in box mode In summary: we don ’ t think there is a more elegant way to minimize space needs and maximize on- the- water fun. Scott and Susan Seattle
5
I purchased the Haven( Tandem) and took it out on the water last weekend. The assembly confounded at first until I followed the YouTube assembly video section by section. The second time I put it together took about 10 minutes and was relatively easy( just needed good muscle). The boat is sturdy in the water, it held two adults easily, and we found it easy to steer and navigate. I like that it can convert to a single too. Fits in the trunk of my Camry easily. Only thing I 'd like to add to my Oru is a small hand cart to wheel it from the car to the dock. While it folds up nicely, at age 57 and small framed, it's still quite heavy for me to carry on a shoulder by myself. Otherwise, I have no complaints! Love it and love that I can take it all over the place to rivers and lakes.
5
so I had the pleasure of using this kayak this past week with my wife and 2yr old and we absolutely love it. its small enough to fit in the trunk of my Subaru and also very stable in the water. nothing but praise for the Oru Haven kayak!

[ This is the dream boat! Live in a place where you cant store your outdoor toys but still want to do your outdoor adventures? This is the right tool for the job! Yeah, it takes a moment to figure out how to set it up and take down, but once you do, you can throw it in the back of a Cinquecento if thats what you are driving. And then you can throw it in the back of your closet to keep till your next run out on the water. And it is pretty! You dont need special roof racks, you dont need a partner to help you load it, you dont need a three car garage. All you need is a river or lake to get on!

Brought this for my wife as a birthday gift. It actually arrived on her birthday, which was a great extra benefit( shipment delays due to Covid). She had been using a 9' 6 '' big box store, generic kayak and enjoyed it. She took her maiden voyage on her Loon 120 and absolutely loved it! Initially was going to get her the Loon 106, but fortunately when I called I spoke to a staff member who explained the the 120 is better suited for a smaller stature person such as my wife. It ’s a great idea, well executed. I love that it fits in the car. Folding and unfolding is something I needed to get used to, but now I ’ m in the water in comparable time to my hard shell. I tried it twice on relatively calm days and it tracked wonderfully and fit right so that I felt like the kayak and I were a single unit when moving. I practiced twice in my basement before I felt comfortable going on in public and assembling it and that was a good plan! Unfortunately, the lakes are iced over now but I got to use it twice and am looking forward to next spring. I was very pleased with it.

Hauling 3 crazy outdoor dudes, 2 Oru Coast, 1 Oru Bay and gear to enjoy climbing hiking and more with room for tons of junk food all in a small Subaru hatchback. This PNW coast trip was a amazing success.
5
I was skeptical on how this boat would do when compared with rigid kayaks in the water, but took the risk anyway because I love how small it could pack and lightweight it is( less than half of my other sea kayaks)... and OH BOY was I wrong. The Coast glides through the water effortlessly, gets up to speed in only a couple strokes, and is incredibly durable – I did n't notice any change in the hull after a full afternoon of charging through big ocean waves, practicing rescues, and grinding against rocks. This boat is truly made for anyone who loves spontaneous adventure and needs the right gear to keep up with them!
5
Now a proud Coast owner for almost a year, I could n't be happier that I took the risk on Oru's Kickstarter last spring. The boat came ocean- ready, with float bags and a skirt, and has been used extensively in Washington, BC, and even on a vacation to Tahiti. I 'm continually impressed by how well it paddles, and how easy it is to travel with it, whether by car or plane. Thank you Oru for making paddling this much fun!
5
After paddling a friend's Bay Kayak I was convinced I wanted an Oru, but had to decide which one. After doing some more research I selected the Coast, opting for a boat that could carry more gear and travel faster on the water. I am happy I did. This kayak is absolutely amazing to paddle, punching through waves, even loaded with many days worth of gear, food, and water. I paddle mostly in the San Juan Islands, and I truly think this boat could change the game – helping get many more people out to beautiful places like this.
5
3 months. 8 trips. 25 full days. 10 sunrises. 3 whales. Priceless adventures. After paddling almost exclusively ocean in and around Seattle I can confidently say this boat can stand up the harshest and most varied conditions. It's been great in big surf, longer 5- day trips loaded with gear, and for many of my friends to paddle on weekdays. I plan to leave this boat in my trunk and take it wherever I go. I truly has changed my paddling routine.

The Connelly Nautic 9. 5 inflatable kayak is an outstanding product that provides good tracking and stability for us novice paddlers. With the spacious and comfortable cockpit, zippered dry hatch, and lightweight design, this kayak is perfect for all- day excursions on calm lakes or rivers. If you need portability and storability in a kayak, I ca n't recommend this highly enough. It's sturdier than I thought it 'd be and I have a lot more confidence paddling than I was expecting. If portability( both in size and weight) or storage space is n't an issue then honestly I might look to a different boat- but if you need something light/small then this is honestly the best boat you can buy. Even if space is n't an issue for you, the weight is amazing( 20ish pounds) if you have a hard time moving a heavier kayak. You do have to be more careful with it than other boats( best to launch with the boat fully in the water so you do n't drag it) but for what it is it's sturdier than you 'd think. I highly recommend it!

I was looking for a kayak that was fun to use, with an open cockpit, and easy to store and transport. My OruKayak Beach LT fully met these criteria, meriting a 5 star review. I mostly used it to paddle on Irondequoit Bay, near Rochester NY. I loved watching the many cormorants as well as a pair of resident bald eagles. My only suggestions for improvement are that the bow fairing is harder to pull up than the stern one. I am not sure why. It would also be nice if there was a way to mark the straps that attach the seat back and foot rest positions to make it easier to find the same `` fit '' every time with less adjusting.

[ After our first paddle in our Inlet Sports, my wife and I were very impressed with them. They set up easily and paddled quite nicely for 9 ’ boats on calm, flat water. There were a couple of niggling details that could use improvement: easing the ends of the “ utility rails ” so they aren ’ t square and sharp, and having some way to secure the flopping closure buckles when paddling. But other than that, we were happy with them. We have decades of experience with sea kayaks and currently own a pair of 16. 5 ’ Eddyline Journey kayaks. We got the Orus for travel purposes. Seems we made a good choice!
