These snow shoes are fabulous! My four year old daughter and two year old son( boot sizes 11& 9) have had a great time wearing these. The one pull binding is amazing. It truly is one pull, and tightens up fantastically. It also releases just as easily. The quality is outstanding too. As my husband said, it's rare these days that an item exceeds any and all expectations. These snow shoes, poles and bags all completely exceeded our expectations. We see plenty of snow shoe fun in our future! Oh- I had to contact the company regarding a shipping question. They were super helpful, rushed my order, and provided great customer service!!

I bought these for my daughter this Christmas because she had outgrown her youth Yukon Charlie snowshoes. She wore those for about four years, and they were great, so we moved up to these. At first we were concerned about by women's for an 11- year old, but we wanted something that would last. The tapered tail and narrow frame work great for her. And she absolutely loves the bindings( and so do I). She can finally do them herself instead of me having to fasten the clip bindings of her old ones. She enjoyed using the heel lifts for some of our back country snowshoeing. A great product( and pretty too)!

I have had Yukon Charlie shoes in the past and they lasted for years... and I put them through the test for sure! Very happy with our purchase and my son is very happy as well:)

[ Some snowshoes are made lightweight but fall apart. Others are solid and heavy. These toe the line between the two; they are the perfect balance of strong and light! I 'm excited for my little to be able to snowshoe this winter and for many more in the future!

[ Perfect for my 7 year old looks durable. She ca n't wait for the next snow storm. It's definitely a youth size. And her snow boots snap right in the only thing I did n't like was that the rubber caps pop right off the pole.

[ My 7 year old is in love with these snowshoes and trekking poles. We live in the northeast. Our winters are long and we get plenty of snow. These snowshoes make for a safe outdoor activity that is both kid and parent approved. The snowshoes themselves are very sturdy and light weight. There are some sharp metal grips underneath that you have to be careful with, but they will give you excellent traction in icy conditions or going up hills. The straps are large enough to go over snow boots. They ’ re also very easy to take on and off. My 7 year old can do it by himself. The two trekking poles compliment the snowshoes well. The poles are adjustable in length. Two snaps are all you need to adjust and secure the length in place. The poles are light weight as well and provide extra balance, especially for those new to snow shoeing. A convenient carry bag is also included. It ’s plenty large enough to store both snowshoes and trekking poles. It ’s perfect for traveling or just storing them away for the summer. Overall, I ’ m very please with these Sno- Bash youth snowshoes and trekking poles. They ’ re easy for my kids to use and make for a great outdoor winter activity. My kids love them as well as it provides them with a sense of independence and exploration. I would recommend them to others.

Earlier this winter I rented a set of snowshoes to go with a friend. I enjoyed it so much that I bought these Cascade Mountain Tech shoes from Dick's online. I have been extremely pleased with them and have been out with them 8- 9 times in the past three weeks. Two weeks ago, I took another friend out for his first time and he bought the same ones, also from Dick's online.

Southern Girl moves to Ohio. One month later, decides to join Peak Snowshoe race in Vermont. Does hours of research on snowshoes.. reviews, videos, social media.. decides to go with 'the Yukons'. Has best time ever! Never put on a pair.. picked the best. I was able to focus on technique and breathing, and NOT the shoe. Seriously.. the shoe is so perfect, its like it's not there. Third day training, met experienced snowshoer.. who was wearing Yukons! Told me I `` got lucky '' with my first pair. March 7th.. I 'll be in Vermont with confidence.. 'cause Yukon Charlie will be with me!

I have used my run snowshoes several times this winter( would have been more but snow has been limited) the binding system works very efficiently and stays secure throughout the entire run/hike. The crampons provide excellent traction as the conditions were a combination of powder and icy snow. I ran mostly single track and this model was quick and maneuverable as i made adjustments due to surface and elevation changes. They are very light and reactive to sudden changes in directions.

I got these lightweight snowshoes for my kids because they like running in snowshoes, but have borrowed them a few times because they 're so much fun! The shorter length, light weight, and axle system make them easy to walk or run in. The one- pull bindings are easy to use and stay on well. Just make sure the ball of your foot is over the metal plate, secure the heel strap, and you ’ re good to go!
Lightweight snow shoes offer several advantages for winter activities. They provide enhanced mobility and ease of movement, making it simpler to navigate through snow-covered terrain. Their reduced weight can help decrease fatigue during extended use, allowing for longer adventures. Additionally, lightweight designs often feature streamlined profiles that improve maneuverability and make them suitable for various winter activities, from hiking to casual snowshoeing.
To determine the right size of lightweight snowshoes, consider your weight and the type of terrain you plan to traverse. Most snowshoe sizing charts provide recommendations based on your weight range, which helps ensure optimal flotation and stability. Additionally, if you will be using them in deep snow or hilly areas, you may want to choose a larger size for better performance. Always check the manufacturer's guidelines for specific sizing recommendations to find the best fit for your needs.
Lightweight snowshoes are typically made from materials such as aluminum for the frame, which provides strength without adding excess weight. The decking is often constructed from durable synthetic fabrics or plastic, allowing for flexibility and resistance to cold temperatures. These materials contribute to improved maneuverability and ease of use, making it easier to traverse various terrains while maintaining stability and traction in snowy conditions.
Lightweight snowshoes are versatile and can be used across various types of terrain, including flat trails, rolling hills, and even some more rugged areas. Their design typically allows for easier maneuverability, making them suitable for both packed and unpacked snow conditions. However, while they perform well in many environments, specific features may enhance their effectiveness in certain conditions, such as deep powder or icy surfaces. It's important to consider the terrain and snow conditions when selecting the right snowshoes for your outdoor activities.
When choosing lightweight snow shoes for hiking or recreational use, consider the size and weight of the snowshoes, as these factors can impact your mobility and comfort. Look for features such as a durable frame and a flexible design that allows for natural foot movement. Additionally, traction is important, so select models with effective grip patterns or crampons to enhance stability on various terrains. Finally, ensure that the binding system is easy to use and provides a secure fit for your footwear.
Lightweight snowshoes are designed to provide enhanced comfort and ease of use compared to traditional models. Their reduced weight allows for greater maneuverability and less fatigue during extended use, making them ideal for casual outings or less challenging terrain. Additionally, many lightweight options feature streamlined designs and adjustable bindings, which can improve the overall fit and ease of putting them on and taking them off. This combination of features makes lightweight snowshoes a popular choice for those looking to enjoy winter activities without the bulk of heavier models.
Yes, there are lightweight snowshoes specifically designed for children and youth. When selecting snowshoes for younger users, consider their weight and size to ensure proper fit and ease of movement. Look for features such as adjustable bindings for a secure fit and lightweight materials that enhance comfort. Additionally, consider the intended use, whether for casual play or more structured activities, to choose the right style and design.
Lightweight snowshoes typically weigh between 1.5 to 3.5 pounds per pair, depending on their size and materials. This reduced weight enhances usability by making them easier to maneuver and carry, especially during long treks or when navigating varied terrain. Lighter snowshoes can also help reduce fatigue, allowing users to enjoy extended outdoor activities with greater comfort. Additionally, their design often promotes better agility and speed, making them suitable for both casual outings and more adventurous explorations.
Seasonal conditions can significantly impact the performance of lightweight snow shoes. In warmer temperatures, softer snow may cause the shoes to sink more, reducing their effectiveness and making it harder to traverse. Conversely, in colder conditions with firmer, packed snow, lightweight snow shoes can provide better flotation and maneuverability. Additionally, varying snow types, such as powder versus crust, can influence traction and stability, making it essential to choose the right snow shoes for the specific conditions you will encounter.
To maintain and store lightweight snowshoes effectively, it is important to clean them after each use to remove snow, ice, and dirt. Allow them to dry completely before storing to prevent mold and mildew. Store the snowshoes in a cool, dry place, ideally in a protective bag or container to shield them from dust and damage. Regularly check for any signs of wear or damage, and address any issues promptly to extend their lifespan.
