[ Recently returned from an extremely hot and humid vacation in Key West. Temps in the 90's. Dewpoint 75 or higher every day. Heat index of 110. I brought 2 of these Echo T- Shirts with me and lived in them. Very light and breathable and the only tops I had that did not stick to my hot and sweaty body. They wicked well and offer SPF protection. How this is accomplished in such lightweight material is a mystery to me. And no... they are not see- through like so many other lightweight options. I 'm a big fan of the modest v- neck these shirts have. I do wish they were and in or two shorter, but that's my personal preference. I highly recommend the Echo T- Shirt and the Echo Sun Hoody. The material feels excellent. It ’s soft, stretches with you and is very breathable. I ’ m 6 ’ 5( 195cm) 240lbs( 108kg) I usually wear a XXL for most tops. When I was in store trying it on all that was available was an XL and it fit really well. The buttons have a satisfying mechanical click, and the zippered pocked is dual purpose both acting as a wallet storage/pop socket storage and the second purpose being ventilation. The pocket ’s equipped with a mesh which I think is what helps it be the shirt of the summer. I went ahead and still opted for a XXL and would have felt comfortable in an XL no problem. I ’ d like to see more colors, a long sleeve version and perhaps a long sleeve padded version for the winter. The problem I ’ d say is when you buy one color, you want to buy the other color, which I did. I ’ d recommend this shirt if you ’ re on the fence.

[ For reference, I purchased a Medium. I ’ m 5 ’ 4 ”, 128 pounds, pear shaped, so, smaller on top, curvier on bottom. I got the black which is opaque. I wear this baselayer weight for cross country skiing when it ’s above 30 degrees or so. Smartwool varies in size for me, these are not extremely fitted like some of the 1/4 zips so go with your normal size.

I have been hiking, backpacking, and traveling with them and they have withstood the test of time. They are comfortable alone or as under layer. I worked in the yard for several hours in 80 degree heat and it kept me cool and comfortable. I could have worn it the next day as it did not retain any odor. I was n't certain how the addition of Lyocell to the Wool would affect the breathability of the fabric. I am happy to say it worked just fine! I have not yet washed it but am sure it will live up to the Smartwool standards. Nice to have a v- neck option as not all of us look good in crew neck styles. The first two were bought in size medium but they ’ re little tight fitting so I bought a couple more in size large. I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ” 180 lbs with really broad shoulders. Only wish is that they would remove the logo from the front of the shirt to make it look less like a workout tee so I can wear it out on the town.

I bought a couple of these for running and hiking in the humid SE summer. They have performed perfectly for that purpose and are great when paired with the super comfy Astro Shorts. I also wear a couple of Patagonia Capilene Lightweight short sleeve shirts, and I would put the Echo up against the Capilene; they are very similar in terms of fit, performance and weight. The Echo comes just a tad further below my waist line than the Capilene. Fit is great. I am 5'10 '' 165 and the medium is perfect.

This is my third Icebreaker t- shirt. I 'm a runner and these shirts are perfect for warm weather running. Besides the obvious benefits of wool, like no odor( allows several runs before washing), and excellent sweat wicking, but they are also soft. If you 're a man and wear the typical polyester tech shirt, you are prone to nipple chafing from a polyester shirt on long, warm weather runs. Even mitigation actions like lubricants on the nipple do not fully work. But wool is so soft, I 've never chafed a nipple since wearing them. These are my preferred running shirts. And... I love the `` molten '' color.

I have this tee in 4 colours. Definitely agree that you need to size up as it ’s small fitting. Fjallraven have some strange sizing. I ’ m L in Vardag anorak, XL in Greenland Winter Jacket and XXL in tees. Minor criticism, could do with the neck of the tee being tighter.
