I bought these in white in XL and then in black in L. I like pants loose at the waist and need a long rise. I also got the short length, which sit at my instep( 5' 4 ''). The black ones in the L fit better as to the rise and volume of the legs, but I prefer the looser waist on the XL. I wish designers would give up the hourglass myth of women's bodies: If one needs a L for the hips, one probably does not have a 32 '' waist. The drawstring makes these wearable. Both are comfortable, though, and very light. So I will probably wear the black ones out more, and keep wearing the white ones around the house. Very comfortable style and fabric. I find myself wearing these most days in the Florida warm temps. Very nicely made, as well. I marked `` runs small '' because the elastic at the waist, IMO, should be about 2 inches larger. These are way softer and have such a smoother feel. They also don ’ t wiggle down and have to be pulled up all day long. These pants feel like quality. They are 98% pre- washed organic cotton and feel great, soft, not stiff. They are a little narrow, so you might want to size up. The pockets are ample and there are draw strings at the ankle to prevent creepy crawlies from crawling up your pant legs. The length is good if you are on the shorter side. If you are over 5' 5 '' they may be short.

Great overall pair of leggings that have a nice high waist that is not overly compressive. Have worn these for several HITT classes and they do not roll down in the waist which is highly important for me. Found the side pockets to be useful for stowing away my phone freeing up my hands.
