She liked the length of the jacket, the fact there were two outside pockets on each side( zippered and snapped) and a surprise inside zippered pocket, which proved useful for quick storage of little things when her hands were full. She did n't want to take a puffy jacket, even though the weather was expected to be cold for the whole trip. She planned on just layering underneath the jacket. I am so happy I got this coat for the torrential rains that are happening in California right now. I usually wear a medium... sized up to a large and I am glad I did. The sleeves are long enough to hide my cold hands and I 'm able to wear layers underneath for warmth. It still looks good. My L covers my butt( 5'6 '', 34DD, short arms, 145 lbs.) I have been on the hunt for a longer raincoat that covers my rear. I have a `` regular '' length Columbia raincoat that I love. This one is great and will be in heavy rotation. I got the Greenscape color. I am 5'5 '' and wear a women's 16. I got an XXL to be able to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under it. It is generously sized. I might have been able to go XL. I knocked a star off for 2 things that others have raised here. The hood is pretty much useless as it either falls in your eyes or flops backwards. Point 2 is that in my other Columbia rain jacket you can tighten the cuffs with a strap to stop water or wind from blowing up your sleeve. The Weekend Adventure has one snap that tightens the cuff by about an inch. That is not going to keep water or wind out.

I walk alot( 6- 10 miles a day) in the rainy PNW. I am picky about my rain jackets. This one is very nice. I like the fit, the length( over the fanny... important where it rains alot), and has snaps at the bottom sides to allow for a longer stride or use of steps. I would say that it runs a bit large though the fit is loose too.

I am a teacher in Michigan and I need a coat to help me brave recess duty through the winter. I love that the coat is n't too heavy but seems to be quite warm. The length is perfect. I am 5'10, 185lbs and ordered an XL since I often wear sweaters/sweatshirts underneath my coat and wanted some extra room. Sleeves are a good length, too. I ordered the color beetroot. I really love this coat and all the small features that make it so nice. I love all the pockets, it actually fits a 1L water bottle. I love the little fleece details in the hood, at your face, and in the hand pockets. It ’s very warm, and I can choose to layer( or not) and still be warm. I kept my normal size small due to my broader shoulders and wanting it to be able to wear a sweater without my shoulders feeling restricted. It definitely is boxy, but I don ’ t pick coats based on that, but all the other features like staying warm. I really like how big the hood is, it actually fits both my head and a ski helmet, which is nice. I also love the length of the coat and how it ’s slightly longer than my waist. I appreciate the double zipper, when I get into the car I ’ ll unzip the bottom a touch so it ’s looser which makes any tightness when sitting down go away.

I bought this coat to wear for fall and winter. So far this coat is perfect, it is light weight but warm and is roomy enough to wear a sweatshirt under. I like the look of it as well.
