The material is nice and breathable which is perfect for warmer days and isn ’ t too thick. Because of this you do want to make sure you have the right underwear on( no VPL) but that is what you would expect from a legging- style short. Another nice pair of shorts from Dick's, I 've gotten quite a few now from Dick's Sporting Goods and have been happy with all of them. This pair is no exception. Really excellent shorts in fact. These are made of a thin moisture wicking material with an inner integrated' underwear' compression part. This is well- designed and it's not too tight but supportive enough for any activity, whether running or plyometrics. This are quite short, a real modern style running short length. The shorts are loose enough to not restrict your movement when you are active. But with the inner compression part you do n't need to feel self- conscious if you 're down on your back lifting your legs in a fitness class or something. The stitching seems very good, with it being stitched in an eye- pleasing way- by this I mean it's not just a plain' bag' like one- piece short- it looks good. There are two pockets on either side with the left one having an inner zipped pocked. This is n't real large but it's stretchy, so my mid- sized Samsung phone fit in it just fine. Before receiving these I never heard of the VRST brand so I am glad to know they have clothing for people who are active outside. First thing about these shorts is the fabric, they are made from nylon/elastin. The shorts might run a little small. I tend to wear the L pants but got the XL shorts and they work well for me. I like the internal liner, but still wear by boxer briefs with them. I really need to try them without the boxes and see how they work. The pockets are a good size, but anything in them will swing as you run or walk fast. the draw string come in handy to tie the shorts off and hold them up.

My only complaint is that the actual color of the shorts dont match what is shown in the pictures. The gray ones for example look like a lighter gray but in person are very dark. I find this to be a common pattern with Nike ’s products. Maybe they use a filter on their photos and edit the lighting which in turn changes the color in the photos. These are great shorts. I mainly use them for running and functional training but they are so comfy i even wear them around the house casually. I love shorts that are a bit forgiving around the waist and dont feel like they are suffocating me. The Nike Stride shorts tend to make me feel that way. Also the liner is a great size on these shorts and actually fit, much wider than the stride shorts. I think if you ’ re built wider or maybe your a body builder type with more muscle, then these might be a better fit. I wear Medium in shorts and pants in general and I ordered a Medium in these.

[ If you ’ re someone who likes wearing compression shorts under your shorts, these are a must as it is the perfect 2 in 1 combination. The liner on the inside is very comfortable and most importantly not restrictive. Wore these at the gym and felt amazing for leg day. The liner does a great job with compression and the shorts themselves are light and flexible. The liner also features a phone pocket, I typically put my car keys in there as I don ’ t like leaving them on the ground, but I ’ ve also put my plus sized phone a few times and had no issues at all. When wearing them they feel sleek, supportive and most importantly light. I see myself wearing these on both hot and cold days, even for workouts outside of the gym. [ The Brooks Dash 2- in- 1 shorts performed extremely well both on road and trail runs. They fit true to size and the fabric was excellent for my typical 6 mile runs. The built in compression shorts were ideal for hot runs and prevented chaffing during humid days. Like all Brooks products the materials used in the shorts is high quality, performed well against sweaty abuse and washes. The shorts looked new even after a month of runs and washes.

He ’s tall and lean but does CrossFit in addition to running, so he has thick thighs. Finding shorts/pants that fit in both the waist and the thighs has been a challenge, but these fit the bill. [ I bought these for cross training, but have worn them mostly for running lately. I tend to stay away from the 2 in 1 for running, but have really enjoyed these! They are very comfortable and breathable. I live in the south and they held up well in extreme heat and were very breathable and did not get soaked or heavy with sweating. In the gym, they stood up to cross training and lifting heavy without any issues. Will definitely be adding a few more of these to my rotation!
