I go on birdwatching trips, and on a bird- watching Safari, we were advised to be sure the hat we wore would n't obstruct the view of others in the vehicle, so I chose this hat. I have three of these hats. I keep one in the car and one in my backpack so I always have it on hand. I am a redhead and these do the best job of protecting my neck, scalp, and face of any hat I have owned. I also love the folding brim so it can go in a pocket. It stays on well in windy conditions if you snap it under your chin. I wish it came in more colors. Fun ones. I would love orange or teal or fuchsia.

This is a fantastic hat. My daughter borrowed my hat when she volunteered at a wildlife rescue and without in the pouring rain all the time cleaning the enclosures. I kept the rain out of her eyes and off her back. I ca n't say enough about this fantastic hat. I 'm a woman but find that men's hats usually fit a little better. This hat is quite large though. When I bought it it came in different sizes, I do n't see that often now. I wish I had gotten a little bit smaller size even with the adjustment on the back
