[ I have many wool items but the Smartwool ultralight 120 collection is amazing for hot summers. I wore this hoodie at Disney in Anaheim in mid- August and it offered sun protection while keeping me cool and dry. At night when things cooled off it offered the perfect amount of warmth. I do wish that the collar was a little more open but then it would n't be as great for sun protection. Highly recommend.

[ I 've been wearing this layer on the mornings when I hike and it is the perfect weight to keep the cool at bay. it is a little warm for me for sun protection on a hot day but very functional otherwise. I can imagine wearing it lots more this fall and winter. I ordered a Large and it is roomy.. sleeves are just long enough for me.
