[ I just received this coat and was excited to get my trail dog out with it on. She is comfortable in the fit and is able to run around as if she was n't wearing it. I love the material. For sizing, I emailed ruffwear to ask what to do when your dog lies right on the middle between two sizes( for example my dog is 17 inches around the ribs and that is right between a size XXS and XS.) The ruffwear rep suggested sizing down and they were right! It is not too heavy that it would slow her down while hiking, backpacking, or mountain biking. And it is able to roll up nicely to be thrown in my pack if needed. My dog is a 2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is small for her breed and fully grown at 10 pounds. And we got the XXS in the Teal.

[ I 've tried several different brands of life vests for dogs, and while this is pricey, it's the best there is. It's sleek, streamlined, unencumbering, making movement for my dogs as uninhibited it can be. I love that the bottom is well fitted, no loose straps( straps are securely velcroed) no loose flaps that just drags in water. It's just well made and well designed.

This is my second jacket. I bought it one size up so I could layer it. Even great for hiking. put waterproofing on this one took it to Iceland and it worked great!! As well to make it even more versatile. The only thing that sometimes bothers me is that the pocket where the battery goes is open to the actual pocket. Needs to be a zipper or even Velcro.

My wife would have kept the jacket, but she felt that the sleeves were to tight compared to her North Face jacket that it was going to replace. We would have exchanged it for the next size up, but she was afraid that the sleeve length and body would be to big. Love this jacket. I was worried about the reports that it's `` short '' I 'm 5' 9 '' with a longer torso and short legs( 30- 32 inseam) and the jacket came to just below my belt line. It's definitely a jacket for car camping, walks around town, etc. This IS N'T a summit series jacket and is defiantly not built as a belay jacket which I think some get confused. [ This is a great rain jacket. It fits perfectly around the chest( adjustable) and completely covers my dog's butt. Yet, it does n't stop his tail from freely moving around. There are 2 bands for his back legs so that the back of his jacket from flipping over when it's windy, but he almost does n't need them unless it's stormy outside. Easy to put on/ off.
