The shorts are clean and tight looking, I enjoy wearing them with a plain white or black poly tee with some low cut white shoes. There is actually a right hand side small zip up pocket that is good for a car key or small set of keys or some cash. I have owned a pair of the Smith Summit Convertible Cargo Pants in ‘ Medium Olive ’ for 4- years now and have exclusively worn them as shorts. After so many great adventures they ’ re still hanging tuff, I had to grab the shorts version in Court Blue! The waistband for these is much more comfortable although I don ’ t have much of an issue in comfort with the original. The fastened belt seems a little thinner, but doesn ’ t seem less durable, and secures at the waist very well. It is slightly harder to adjust than the predecessor, which isn ’ t very much an inconvenience for a fastening belt. I ’ ll also note this pair seems to be a bit lighter which is a very welcome addition! Fit is loose and comfy yet secure, just the same as the OG pair, cant wait to see the wear over the years!

I 've owned many pairs of the original Stretch Zion shorts and now have moved to the new version. The new Stretch Zion II is has a few changes, but in my opinion, they are still a great pair of shorts. The minor changes like the plastic button and the new fabric still work fine and did n't bother me. Going to the plastic button from the metal one only took a few times of wearing them to get easier to button. The new fabric is still super soft and comfortable but has a sort of shine to it when the light hits them just right. Not a big deal for me. The things that make these my favorite shorts are the comfortable fabric, the adjustable waist band, the color options, and the different pockets. They are also very versatile, I can wear them for activities like hiking and also to a nice restaurant. I own multiple pairs because I wear them all summer.

I generally wear a shorter inseam specifically or trail running, but this inseam was a more modest and `` everyday comfortable '' approach. Got the shorts with the AirShell Hoody and together they 're a great combo. Would recommend as a all purpose trail short.
