I bought these in white in XL and then in black in L. I like pants loose at the waist and need a long rise. I also got the short length, which sit at my instep( 5' 4 ''). The black ones in the L fit better as to the rise and volume of the legs, but I prefer the looser waist on the XL. I wish designers would give up the hourglass myth of women's bodies: If one needs a L for the hips, one probably does not have a 32 '' waist. The drawstring makes these wearable. Both are comfortable, though, and very light. So I will probably wear the black ones out more, and keep wearing the white ones around the house. Very comfortable style and fabric. I find myself wearing these most days in the Florida warm temps. Very nicely made, as well. I marked `` runs small '' because the elastic at the waist, IMO, should be about 2 inches larger. I am size 9. 5 and first tried the size 9. It was too short and my toes were falling out of the shoe. The width was perfect though. I then tried the 10 instead. They are a good length, maybe a little bit too wide, so not perfect but better than the size 9. They are very comfortable. People say they aren ’ t comfortable but thats just because they compare them to adidas foam shoes. They might not be as comfortable as that, but they are much more comfortable than the average sandal
