Bought these to use as an alternative to fleece lined work pants. Much prefer these as it provides more flexibility, yet keeps you warm. They fit well and pair with my canvas work pants. I particularly like the idea that if the weather warms up enough, I can simply take them off, whereas with lined pants, you 're stuck unless you keep an additional pair of pants with you. These launder well too. The seams in them are placed well so there's no `` tugging '' or tightness. To me, they 're a great cold weather investment.

I am impressed with my Carhartt Poly- wool bottom. I received the thermal as part of a Carhartt Crew Field Test, but I will be ordering two more complete sets. I am truly amazed at how well this bottom works to keep me warm. One must understand, I am constantly cold, so to me, this is amazing. I am 5ft 3in, and weigh 115lbs, and the small works well for me. I have laundered it, with no ill effects. It has retained it's shape and fit very well. The bottom also fits perfectly under skinny jeans, without bunching or showing. I live in Iowa, and it gets cold here. While wearing this pair of thermal bottoms, I stayed warm. It really goes long way in cutting the harsh winds we get out here on the prairie. I love the fit on these pants! I am a size 6- 8 and the M fits perfect! I like them more snug because they are more flattering& I do not feel like a marshmallow. These are warmer than my North Face snoga pant and just as flattering. I can wear a think wool layer underneath on cold days. I find Roxy brand to run on the smaller size, so size up if you are unsure. I would say they are a juniors sizing not ladies. I personally like the high waist& elastic waistband for curvy figures- it keeps the snow out if you take a tumble.

The ski pants is true to the size for very slim fit; I 'm 5'11 '', 140lbs, and I can fit a medium weight base layer legging into M size( if you stature is about the same, do n't go for L, it 'll be way too loose, almost like regular/goofy fit). The material is also fairly stretchy, unlike some more waterproof/hardcore surface. It's not insulated with down/etc. but it has an inner fleece and is relatively warm. The design is really good, if you are looking for something flattering and can show off your leg.

I was very wary to buy these seeing the poor reviews, but by using the Obermeyer Size chart from their site, my measurements to size fit perfectly... and I have THICK thighs! I ordered both 10 and 12 just in case, but the 10 fit best. They are warm, insulated, the zippers are high quality and they have a very handy velcro cinch at the back to tighten just right. I am 5 ’ 5 ”- 155lbs and loose measurements are Waist 29 ”& Hip 41 ”. Because my thighs were my highest concern, and are for many ladies, they are each 24. 5 ” around. Size 10 fit comfortably. See pics! Only drawback is I wanted to match my new Obermeyer Cosima Jacket in Varsity Blue. The color is close but not a true match, see last photo.

Love Smartwool for days in the snow. It ’s a great base layer that I can depend on. It is super soft when you first buy it but does get scratchier with wash and wear, even with gentle cycles, mild detergent, and hang drying. I tend to wear a thin, cotton free layer underneath for better comfort and more layers. While it does offer some stretch, it is very true to size, so if you are teetering between sizes, size up. You ’ ll be more comfortable and won ’ t risk circulation compression, which will ultimately make you more cold.
