I would suggest sizing down, based on the size chart I needed a 2X, but I tried on the XL in store and they have PLENTY of room. I sized down in these based on reviews. I usually wear a MD pant with Free Fly, but I am glad I sized down. They are `` fitted '' by sizing down, but no uncomfortably. Does not pull with sitting and I can tell they are already relaxing with wear, so I am happy I did size down. I think a MD would end up looking a bit looser than I would like with thise style of pant. I love the Canyon Clay color and the cotton is so soft and comfortable. Another great product from Free Fly!

I bought a pair of these pants four years ago love them so much bought another pair two years ago they 've become my favourites and I overwear them. They still look like new except for a small pick on the thigh of my newer pair but I 'm the only one who knows it's there. Most comfortable pants ever for working and bending they stretch in all the right places. My husband and I even wear them skiing with an under layer. Fabulous secure pockets for multitool, phone and wallet. Never put them in the dryer and you will get many happy years with them. They are expensive but worth the money. I was worried that the waist would be too tight on me as I am not used to wearing high- waisted pants and I do not have a curvy figure. Going by the size guide, I ordered size 40, but the hips and legs were much too baggy, although the waist was okay but still loose. I took a chance and exchanged the 40 for a 38. When I first tried them on I found the hips and legs fit perfectly. But the waist, as feared, seemed too snug. I kept the pants for a couple of weeks and every few days I would try them on and wear for short periods indoors. After a while, the waist started to loosen just enough to feel comfortable. I have worn them a few times now and the fit just keeps getting better! I am so happy because I really wanted to like these pants and now I have a pair that fit beautifully. I will use them for hiking year round and in the winter as a good pair of outdoor pants in Alaska.

I bought them because I previously bought the Halle pant and wanted a straight leg version in a different color( so I never have to wear another less comfortable pant to work). My only complaints are based on what I think are a few with reductions from earlier versions: I prefer my older version's fabric, which seems a bit thicker and softer. I also think the older version might have had a double snap on the leg, which I like better too.( One on each side.) Finally, the waist tire was frayed at the end( nothing duck tape could n't fix). These are certainly not deal breakers, and I still wear these pants every week. Before I got these pants I mistakenly got the Halle II. These pants were perfect for a cold day with 40mph winds and 15 degree windchill hiking at 12, 000 feet in the alpine in January. They were totally windproof and I was actually warm when we were ascending, but perfect temperature when descending. They fit fairly narrow, so if you are planning on layering underneath I would recommend sizing up. The velcro at the hips helps customize sizing and I really love the higher rise on the waist. These are my go to pants for non- skiing winter adventures.

I bought my first Merino wool in New Zealand and never regretted paying the big bucks. The 4 star rating is because of fit. The Small size is very baggy. I just received these pants…they are amazing!! I own a previous edition of these and they only came in regular length. I ’ m so happy they ’ re now available in a 34 ” inseam and the higher waist is sublime!! They work like a charm for my body shape. I think I ’ m going to have to get these updated ones in black too. Steep price, but I have worn my last pair for 4 winters now and they are holding up strong! I am out daily, trekking a couple of hours no matter the weather. These trousers are amazing. When the weather gets colder, the extra warmth these provide over the regular Keb trousers don ’ t go unnoticed! I also think the fit is greatly improved over the older Keb trousers but can ’ t speak to the new ‘ improved fit ’ ones. As for the higher waist, unlike the other review, I love this. It complements my figure better than the lower waist and it provides extra protection and warmth, as well as making tucking a base layer or t- shirt in easier and more comfortable. The cost is high but 100% worth it for trousers that will last years. I definitely plan on buying more.
