Material is heavy and I think it will soften perfectly with time and washes. Zipper is high quality and the lining adds a nice amount of warmth without feeling bulky. I typically wear a small and although this cut is roomy it does n't feel boxy and fits well in the arms and shoulders. The best part is all the functional pockets! VRST has done it again. I have some pants made by another company that are similar to these and I would choose these over the other brand. The fabric is softer and looks more like a traditional khaki pant. These pants come with a little extra room in the hip and thigh area, so they fit nice and comfortable. The material has a slight stretch to it, so range of motion is not limited in any way. The fabric is moisture wicking so they dry quick. The pants also have UV protection which is alway a plus if you are out in the sun. Beside the main side pocket on the right side there is also a zippered pocket to keep keys safe to they do n't fall out. The back pocket also has a zipper if you are someone who keeps their wallet in their back pocket. Overall great fit and comfort. I will be buying more of these.

My grandson loves these pants. He wants to wear them every day. My only complaint is the snap button. The first pair it broke off, but Carhart replaced them, no problem. The snap is very difficult to open and close, so it can be hard for a child to do. It was hard for me to unfasten. It's great that there is a waist adjustment inside. It will allow a child to wear them for a long time.
