Have had a Manduka ProLite mat for…10 years! That ’s incredible, it really is. Problem is, I ’ m a sweater when I work out. I would slip and slide all over my old mat. Upon discovering rubber mats, I went to Dicks and was surprised that my local store only carried the Calia brand in general for yoga. Fortunately they had a great display of unfolded mats, and I was able to feel and see the selection. This one caught me, I LOVED the texture. Well, it works, and amazingly at that! LEAGUES above the ProLite in terms of grip. Now, I do find I still slightly slip when I ’ m overly sweating( and this will be right at the end of an hour hard workout mind you). Bought this to use as an exercise mat for when I workout at my apartment or local rec center. It does its job very well, and the cushioning is surprisingly effective despite being only 5mm thick. The mat also does a good job at gripping the floor.

I recommend the mat because it is high quality and very comfortable. This makes up for the cons. I sweat and it does NOT handle this well. It becomes slippery. It also makes suction noises after rising from a lying down pose. I wonder if others in the class think the noise sounds like one of our natural body functions.

I 'm fairly new to yoga, but have been through 3 yoga mats before this. Either they did not stick to the floor. or my hands would slip, or they would even shed. This mat is perfect. It is long enough, does not slip, I am able to hold poses. Well worth the spend.

I love this mat. So grippy and supportive. As someone who is fairly bony I ’ ve had a lot of issues finding a mat I like that I can spend time on my knees or other bony joints. This mat allowed me to get through an entire practice with no pain, even when placed directly on my hardwood floors. It ’s cushy yet very supportive. My only complaint is that the material attracts EVERYTHING. After my practice I can see every hair, piece of lint, dust and everywhere my dry winter skin touched the mat. But hey it ’s worth wiping off every time anyway, just never have seen what gets left behind on the mat every time.

It ’s more expensive than your average mat, but it ’s the one that has performed the best for me. It ’s tacky and holds up to heavier use( i. e. hot yogas and/or bikram). It is higher maintenance than your cheaper,$ 10 mats, but those mats also don ’ t last very long and contribute extra to the landfill. Sustainability, performance, durability, and American, so I ’ m still into it. And, yeah, the smell goes away.

This is the best yoga mat I have ever owned! It is very grippy in my vinyasa class and I always feel secure and confident on my mat during heated classes and doing balance work. The purple mat is a beautiful color and wipes clean with a damp rag. The mat does smell a little like rubber when you first get it, but that dissipates in about a week. Well worth it, for such a high quality mat!

I ordered the Manduka Prolite( 5. 0mm), the Jade Yoga Fusion( 7. 9mm) and the Jade Yoga Harmony( 4. 7mm) mats. Spending this much on a mat I wanted to make sure I would be happy with what I ended up with. No doubt this is the best mat for me. The mat is heavier than the others but there is no slippage and the extra cushion for my knees makes it the best choice above others. For the record, I would have chosen the Jade Harmony over the Manduka Prolite if the choice was limited to one or the other of those two.

The grip is really good, extra thickness is really comfortable but I can still easily balance on 1 foot, plus the extra length is nice. I 'm 5` 10 and glad I dropped the extra$ 10, but do n't think my wife would need the extra length. I was tired of my hands slipping in down dog while using a Gaiam mat. I tried a matymat from Amazon but the material would literally stretch while you were stretching. I did a fair amount of research online which led me to this mat. It is truly the Rolls Royce of mats. I wish it would have come with a carrying strap in this price range but it is still worth the money. I would recommend to just splurge on it and never have to buy another mat again.
