This is a great product, so much better than the portable hoop( sand or water filled) that it replaced at my house. The Goaliath 54 '' is sturdy and well built, hardly shakes at all. The tempered glass backboard is so nice, the noise and the feel is worth the extra cost. Even the instructions on how to assemble the hoop are very good in my opinion. Most instruction manuals are pretty terrible these days, but this one covers everything pretty well. When it comes to installation me and my wife assembled most of it in my garage then we moved it outside and my wife me and my neighbor were easily able to mount the post, level it and install the backboard. A tip for installing the backboard with limited people would be to back your truck up to the hoop, have two people stand on the tailgate to lift the backboard and then a third person stand on a ladder to install the bolt(s). My one concern with this product is the instructions on pouring the foundation. The directions say to dig a 3'- 0 '' hole, however if you live in a cold climate you might want to consider digging down to frost depth. I live in the Northeast and I dug down to 4'- 0 ''( a civil engineer friend recommend that I do this). I had to buy a separate section of rebar to use because of the deeper hole( each piece was 1'- 0 '' longer than what was supplied in the box), this cost me$ 12 and was not a big deal. 12 bags of concrete later and my foundation is rock solid. We bought this for our kids this past Easter. They have been asking for one for quite awhile. We were never interested in purchasing a basketball standard that required us putting it in a hole then filling with concrete. When we moved into our current home we had the perfect spot to put it and a nice sized driveway. Previous mobile hoops we 've used never felt secure. The back board and rim would shake excessively after every shot. This hoop is nothing like that. It's balanced well and very solid. I love the ease of raising and lowering the hoop. I grew up using the end of a broom stick so this is a wonderful feature. Assembly does require at least 2 people. Follow the instructions and it will go together well. Very satisfied with our purchase.

I really loved the detail of the instructions during assembly! Each section had its own bag of bolts, washers, nuts, etc. I ’ d recommend opening one bag at a time for the section you ’ re working on instead of opening everything at once. I assembled it alone in about 5 hours, however I read over each section several times before starting because I want to be detailed as possible and not make any mistakes that I would have to undo later, lol. Be sure you have a power drill with a Phillips head for the screws going in the plastic frames on the backboard. Don ’ t really understand the negative reviews? I have wasted to much time on researching in ground hoops. Anyhow this on sale at$ 799 was was a trigger puller for me... even though I was set on getting a 72 ''. Good enough in all aspects and should last a decade. Do the install yourself and take your time. Easy peasy. Great product. We installed this in a newly poured cement pad on the side of our house when we built in 2011. It has been an excellent product. The only caution is making sure you leave enough room to bolt the bottom section into the sleeve. Also, the pad for the pole finally wore out after 5 long winters and summers( the straps basically disintegrated). Other than that, this has been a great product and stood up to A LOT of use by teenagers who are not typically gentle with these things.

We 've had this basketball system for about 2 years now. We 've enjoyed using it as a family and it has newer had any. Problems. The thing i like about it is how durable it is for how much it costed. It's survived all the things we 've thrown at it and gone through two pretty brutal winters. At one point it accidentally tipped over and it was still in good condition. They adjustment is quick and easy for the kids to use and I do n't have to worry about them operating it themselves.

[ We have the 44- inch Pro Court Portable Basketball Hoop with the blue base. This is a well- made piece of equipment that will provide our young grandchildren years of use. It is easy and straight forward to assemble. It took just slightly over an hour for us to assemble it. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The only tools you will need are a couple of wrenches and a common and phillips screwdriver. In less than a minute the height can be changed so that children of varying height and skill levels can play. I have found that it is easier to lean the backboard forward and rest the pole on a chair, cooler or similar object than to get out one or two ladders and change the height with it upright. The base is heavy enough that the pole should not fall on someone as long as they don ’ t hang on the hoop. This is a great hoop for our grandchildren. The range of height( 7 ’ 6 ” to 10 ”) mean that more of the grandchildren will be able to play. As we have a few aspiring NBA players( hopefully in a few years at least) this will allow them play against their cousins and allows us to cheer them` on.

Took about 4 days to get it. It went together great.... Until I got to the handle assembly. What a bear to put together!!! That is what took the most time, but I eventually got it together. As long as you stop and look really closely at the manual, its easy. 2 adults needed to put it together.

We got this for our kids because they are falling in love with basketball but are still young so we wanted one that was adjustable in size and moveable( since we will be moving in a few months) and something that would last while they grow up. We 've bought tons of stuff from Lifetime and have n't been disappointed. Set up took a bit longer than we thought, but I believe that happens with just about anything that you put together. But given the features of it, we were fine with it. We filled it with sand and that helps it stay put. We are n't doing any major dunk contests... yet, but having the ability to anchor it down makes me more comfortable for older kids and adults getting more aggressive when playing and dunking. Speaking of dunking, rebounding off the rim and the backboard felt great and not shaky or flimsy. I think the thing I like best is how easy it is to adjust the height. When I was a kid, we had to use a broomstick to get the hoop higher or lower. This, well, I feel spoiled by it. We 're not professional basketball players by any means, this is a great hoop for your front yard or cul- de- sac and keep up with the basketball players who are way better than I am.

Bought this hoop system a year and a half ago. Was able to put this system together with my 15 year old son. Just need a few extra hands when raising the pole up onto the bolts. Had 3 adults and 2 teenagers to complete the task. No negatives about this hoop. Almost 2 years old and still looks brand new. Only wished I went with the 72 '' backboard. Lots of great games and memories being made with friends and family. Hardest part was digging the 4 foot hole but well worth it in the end.

[ Living in Arizona, a backyard pool is almost a must have item when purchasing a home. We LIVE in the pool for 6- 7 months out of the year so, we ’ ve also had plenty of experience with pool hoops. As soon as I took the parts for this Dunn- Rite Splash and Shoot kit out of the box, I knew right away this one was different than others we have purchased in the past. The quality of the parts, the seams in the welds, the backboard material, the net and even the basketball they throw in are far superior to other pool hoops at this same price point. Setup was quick and the instructions were clear. As we have 3 teenage boys, we set ours to the highest recommended height to make it difficult for them to hang on the rim but, I am confident as long as they don ’ t jump from the deck and hang on it, it will not break or tumble into the pool. The base is very sturdy and doesn ’ t move around at all. We had one licensed by the NBA that seemed well made but the base was not designed to hold up to 3 teenage boys and their friends and it was trashed within an Arizona summer. This one seems built to last. We have only just put it out so time will tell if the 120 degree heat and wear and tear from teenagers being teenagers will change my opinion but I ’ m confident that this one will last if treated properly. 100% recommend!

[ After a long winter this past week we were able to open our pool and actually use it. The best part was we were able to setup and play wot our new Dunn- Rite Splash and Shoot Basketball Hoop. This is an absolutely fun activity for me, my husband, kids and neighbors!! Installation was quite quick with perfectly written directions and everything you need in the box. My husband and I was able to setup and install this basketball hoop in under an hour next to our pool. All of the kids got a kick out of if! Taking turns shooting baskets and playing a game while in the pool. This basket ball hoop is a hit and we all can ’ t wait till we can get back in the pool and play with this thing again. [ Dunn- Rite Splash& Shoot Adjustable Height Swimming Pool Basketball Hoop is super sturdy and great for older kids and adults. The rim is stainless steel, so definitely quality here. We have 4 kids, 7- 15 and they enjoy the game while swimming. It ’s placed on our deck with our above ground pool, perfect height and it hangs over the pool- which is awesome! That means that the kids( or us adults) are not constantly getting out of the pool to retrieve a ball. And even more so here, you can adjust the height of the rim so that players of different heights can enjoy it, simply by adjusting 4 bolts, which is great since it secures the set better! Our pool is saltwater too, and we have yet to see any rust issues, but may place silicone over the screws& bolts to allow a protective shield just in case for protection. The entire set stays in place while in use. The base is heavy duty plastic very heavy when filled with water, states that it weighs about 200 lbs when filled, and totally seems like it. You could fill with sand if wanted too. We have it currently filled with water, so that when fall does hit here in our region we ’ re able to empty easily into the pool without moving, then disassemble to store for the cooler months. The instructions are easy to follow but the backboard is a bit tricky to put on, best with 2 people at this point in the process as one will need to hold up the backboard while the other is able to place the screw in. The cool thing for me as I love to decorate is that this clear option that we received is not an eye sore out on the patio. It ’s a nice clean look while allowing the kids to have more fun. This is the ideal set up for our little ballers.
