[ This pack was a long day hike upgrade for me and I chose it for 2 reasons. First was the Airspeed suspension which definitely keeps your back cool. Second was longer torso length. Along with all of the compression straps this a very comfortable and balanced pack. The stuff it pocket was an afterthought but is actually very handy. Extremely pleased with this purchase!

` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. Never had to use the internal rainfly, but that was definitely a selling point for me. Highly recommend!

I hiked across Spain for 500 miles over 35 days carrying this pack. I had NO issues and it was so comfortable. I carried about 13- 15 lbs with a water bladder. Only wish the water bladder nozzle had a cover as every time I set the pack down my nozzle touched the ground- good for my immune system! I just feel so grateful for my pack. One of your sales people on the phone recommended it after I tried several other models and sizes. Could n't be happier. One of the zippers broke before my trip but it was n't key. The Hikelite 18 is incredible for travel, day hikes, daily commuting via bike, and more. It fits under an airplane seat, has hydration bladder capability for day hikes, includes a chest and waist strap to secure the bag to you when biking, and it is the perfect size. I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

Just hiked Mt Kilimanjaro with the Beta Light 45 pack. Super light for a long trek. The harness is amazingly comfortable and with the pockets great for cameras, GoPro's, etc... It handled the rain well, 100% of my items remaining dry. Highly recommend this versatile pack.

The Large size Betalight45 fits me very well. The shoulder straps are comfortable with a loaded pack and the hip belt sits properly to take some weight. I 'm 6' 3 '', 180lbs, my torso is 21. 5- 22 '' according to BD instructions. I measured the actual volume of the main bag to be 46L and still able to roll closed. As an ultralight Backpacker, I leave my honest review here. First, I have to say that I was excited when I got this backpack; the fabrics and the implementation are outstanding excellent job Black Diamond. The fast backpack idea with those extra shoulder straps makes this backpack ideal. Not only is this one waterproof or almost, but it is merely one of the best backpacks I ever owned. Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. If I had a bigger one, I could guarantee it would never fit inside.

I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

We go to amusement parks, long rucks, hikes, family walks etc, and we use this each time. I bought this for my first mountaineering excursion. A nearly 9000 foot elevation in Patagonia of Cerro Creston. Only lasts about a year then the cloth part of zipper goes bad. I ’ ve returned daylite many times. While I appreciate the all might guarantee, it ’s still a hassle to continue this process. Hydration pack is well made and super lite. Great for day hikes over long distances and can hold quite a bit of water and accessories for a small pack. The only thing that could be considered a drawback is the closure for the water bladder can slip off when the bladder is completely full. But as long as you are careful putting it in the pack then it is fine.

Black Diamond's Speed Packs provide everything I need and appreciate in a trad pack without any unnecessary fluff 'n' stuff added. I 'm a tall man with a short torso, and the smaller size sits nicely, even while wearing a harness and climbing multipitch routes. The pack also carries a rope nicely, with five compression straps keeping it in place. While I have n't used this pack for skiing, I can strongly recommend it for all- day climbing adventures.

It can be easily folded back up to fit inside. There are sturdy metal rods, with a heavy duty mesh piece on the back. It will definitely hold up when hiking. The bag is adequately sized for all hikes and most short camping trips. Despite its relatively small size, it boasts a number of impressive features. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

This daypack is a well- rounded minimal travel daypack. One large compartment that is expandable. Folds down flat so it can be packed. Comes with a couple of well placed straps for compression and stability( sternum strap). The bottom is made of a more durable material. It's not too hard to pack and make this backpack stand on its own. Looks great too! Small con: bottle side pockets can be hard to use if pack is full. Maybe stretchy side pockets would work better. Would suggest Fjallraven team explore two- tone color options in the future.

I grabbed this with the intention of it being an addition to my bike set up. I was torn between this bag and the Abisko Hike Foldsack but decided upon this one because it rolls up and can easily store on my bike during transit. On my way home with groceries I can unroll it and wo n't have to worry about stuffing everything into my handle bar bag. [ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. The new Rook series packs 50 and 65 liter are well worth the price they retail for. If you are a well seasoned hiker or a beginner you ca n't go wrong with the Osprey Rook. I was skeptical but this pack performed very well. I really liked the U- zip access, huge hip pockets, and the side pockets that I can grab a waterbottle from while wearing the pack. A couple of things I did n't like: those huge hip pockets left no room for a bear spray holster, there is no way for the lid to double as a separate pack for little jaunts from camp, and the hip belt was maxed tight on my 34 '' waist in the Med/LG frame choice. I did n't understand the significance of a female- specific pack until I got this one-- I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game- changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. It packs much better than my previous pack and the weight is distributed better and sits on my hips more comfortably. Definitely recommend!

Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. Lots of pockets, I especially like the double pockets in the lid for sorting small stuff.

I 've had this pack since 2006. It's been on many adventures with me, from backpacking in Canyonlands to training hikes in Teluride to travel through Taiwan. For several years, I used this bag for grocery shopping and going to the laundry mat, when it was often 70 pounds. It's so comfortable that even fully loaded, I can easily dance while wearing it. This pack has survived bear attacks, rain storms, deserts, baggage handlers, and having its capacity tested endlessly. After 15 years, I 've noticed the first sign of wear- a small tear in a seam. I 'm happy with the longevity of the product, and I 'm heartened that I can send it to Osprey for a professional- level repair for just the cost of one- way shipping. The All Mighty Guarantee is one reason I 'm so loyal to Osprey- they did a fantastic job repairing bear damage, and they quickly sent me a set of replacement buckles after I damaged one of mine. I love how comfortable the hip belt and harness are, partly thanks to the high degree of adjustability. If it every gets lost or stolen, I will happily buy the same bag.
