I purchased the Pocket Radar about 3 weeks ago to find out how fast my son's velo was as a college pitcher. I researched the internet and found the reviews to be excellent. The pocket radar gun will handle the upper 80's and 90's very well. On 7/17/16 we were playing another team in Pacifica, CA and had four guns on the pitchers as these are all college players throwing hard. The phone app was clearly too hard to operate quickly as you must hit the button when they start the throw and then when they catch it. The Bushnell and the other Pocket Radar Guns we had were all within 1 mile per hour consistently. You do not have to be right behind the plate, we tried it up 100' away from the pitcher and at slight angles. Just hold it straight up and down as the instructions state. I would heavily recommend this gun for it's size, price, and accuracy as the very best on the market today.

The pocket radar is reliable and can be operated hands free. We love the device. Recently, the LCD screen broke after being hit by a baseball. I ’ ve been using this machine for 2 weeks now and it ’s working out great. The pitches are all strikes but not exactly the same place so it ’s not too easy. It ’s a bit of work to switch the legs back and forth from the baseball to softball ones so you pretty need to do one or the other in one session. My daughter feels like the low profile legs give her pretty realistic look at how pitches come at her on the games which is a huge plus compared to having hit her off the baseball machines. It was a bit pricey being$ 500 over the machine that throws 60 mph( this one is 70) so I hope my kids are still using it when they face that velocity. I would recommend product!

Personally, I stink at having a consistent soft toss when working with my 8U/10U daughter on hitting. This tool allows me to set it up in front of a net, and get her into a rhythm of hitting quickly and easily. This gets her more quality reps in less time than me trying to do soft toss. It can also be used for working on grounders if you remove the extension bar from the middle or as a tee if you swap the insert. It packs up nicely in the included case and can be easily taken to the field for those long tournament days. My only complaint is that it's a bit top heavy when using the toss configuration, but that's easily remedied by adding a cheap ankle weight/sandbag/etc around the base. Also, if you 're going to be moving it a lot, grab some duct tape and run a couple of strips along the side of the release mechanism, which only loosely slides into its slot and has no screws to hold it firm. If you move it from one place to another, the mechanism will easily slide out and crash to the ground. Thankfully it's survived a few drops like this before I gave up and gorilla taped it, lol. I 've used all sorts of balls in this machine during the couple of months I 've had it, from foam practice baseballs to softballs, tennis balls, etc. The only one that's given me any issues are those rubbery weighted practice balls, which sometimes are too sticky against the rails to roll easily or tend to get a bit stuck on the release mechanism. Overall, it's a great practice machine that seems to be built fairly well while still being lightweight and easily portable.

With SIP in place, I was seeking a rebound net for my daughter and her water polo skills. While I had my eye on another rebound net at a lower price point, I 'm glad that I purchased this one. The construction is very sturdy and setting it up out the box was very straightforward. Took maybe 10 minutes from opening of the box to getting the very last band connector wrapped. The surface area of the net is very generous. It's got 3 different angle settings to set the net's response at. While throwing a water polo ball at the net, the bounce back is solid( I. e. shoots the ball back as fast as you threw into the net.. if you hit the sweet spot). While maybe the mass of a water polo ball was not the intended sports ball( the net tends to vibrate- I just hacked this by adding some sand bags to the base), the solid construction of this net does the job well. And since it's mean to be 'portable', at the conclusion of your practice, you can quickly velcro the base down to the net and carry it away. This product feels like it will last a long time, although the netting could also play a factor in that as well. Would recommend product to all my friends.

This is definitely easier to get fly balls to outfield rather than having the dad “ me ” look like an idiot missing 5 out of 10 balls or getting them wrong with a fungo bat. Fungo bats are good but not if you are trying to train your kids in outfield and don ’ t know how to accurately get the ball to them. This makes you look like less of an idiot in front of all the parents watching their kids practice. You can easily do the same thing with a tennis racket but this is cheaper than a tennis racket and will last longer. Used it a lot since I bought it and the kids even love it. They love it so much they use it at home and launch balls that land on my truck to add cosmetic appeal with dents.

I have been watching this Marucci pitching machine for a couple of weeks and searching everywhere for a review with no luck. Today I spoke with a very nice lady at my local DSG and asked about the return policy. I was afraid that like many other products, this would advertise 60 mph and actually do 25… she told me 90 days, just to make sure I saved all the packaging. I got it home tested it immediately with real baseballs and was my target at 46 feet consistently for the most part. I switched to dimple balls and grabbed the pocket radar and I was constantly hitting 54/55 mph at 46 ft on target. I was using a 9 hole target and 18/18 balls hit a pocket!

We bough this machine a few years ago for my son when he was in little league. It helped him greatly with his swing. Since I have a bad elbow that prevents me from throwing accurately& could n't help him practice, we were able to use this for not only his hitting practice, but you can easily adjust it& use it for fielding pop- ups& grounders as well.( Great for pop- ups!) I used to film his swings& we could see it together& work on his mechanics. It tends to bog down a little in speed after a few dozen balls go through it but just give it more time# an extra couple of seconds) between balls. My only real complaint is that we went to use it after a few seasons& the motor quit working. At the time Dick's was n't carrying them in their stores anymore or I would have replaced it with another. Instead we bought another brand that is no way near as accurate or consistent as this machine was. I think that's what I liked the most about this machine. You could get it set up& it would be real consistent. Find the strike zone& you were good!

I have 2 baseball players and one softball player in the house. We do a lot of batting practice in our backyard or up at the ball fields. We typically store the balls in 5 gallons pails. This caddy is at a better height where we don ’ t have to bend over as much for each ball. The caddy also works with softball or baseballs so it can be used for all of our kids. We haven ’ t used this caddy much but it seems to be sturdy and of good quality. An added bonus that the basket can be removed and the balls can be carried. This will make batting practice much easier this ball season.
