Kit worked well. I changed the mount from inside the trailer to outside( who wants to lose space in the trailer bed?) by getting some additional u- bolts and L- brackets to replace the bottom mounting plates. I did have to replace the bolts used to attach the tie down points, as the wrench needed to tighten them would not reach inside the cross bar.$ 2. 50 worth of slightly smaller bolts, nuts and washers fixed the issue. I still need to cut off the excess bolt threads, but it is going to work great for carrying kayaks while still allowing the trailer to be used for hauling other items.

No, I do not personally own one of the racks, but coming from a person with loads of ladder rack and vehicle rack purchasing and using experience, this may the coolest, most useful product I ’ ve ever come across. And believe me when I say, I am very OCD, we use ladder racks on all our work trucks and enclosed trailers and I have shopped just every brand and style out there. Works Great for fitting multiple boats on a rack. If you are going to put one boat on each side I would recommend buying a set of the 15 ft. load straps. If you are putting this on an Xsporter remember to use the Xadapt 3 adapter kit. There is a link to it in the technical specifcations area on this page. Not sure why Jay from a previous review could n't stumble on that. Great Product, use mine all the time and recommend to all my friends.

When I got kayaks I was trying to avoid racks like the J style Hull a Port. I 've had issues with boats shifting, and am not a fan of the design. The Stacker is a simple design that uses the crossbars to help keep the boat in place. Never had an issue with shifting, even on 8 hour drives with two boats. It's also the cheapest Thule option for more than one boat. Very happy with my decision. Just make sure you put the straps on BEFORE you put the boat on.

I have the Malone AirFlow towers and rails and the BigFoot Pro pads are a great accessory to get the canoe/kayak up off the vehicle roof. Quality construction. I just wish there was a way to lock them to the crossrails.

Overall, a great way to store your canoe on your vehicle's cross bars. Felt like the price was about triple for what you actually get in terms of plastic braces, 2 straps, and screws. However, it's a well- built product that should last. Have used it twice thus far for our canoe... have a good hang of it now... could probably reinstall/take- down in 10 minutes tops.

I placed this on a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with factory crossbars. These worked great for holding a 16 foot canoe. Never moved and protected the vehicle. I would give it five stars if there was a way to lock the mounts to the car( None of the other canoe carrier companies had locks either. ie thule, Yakima) It would be nice if you did not have to undo all the screws each time you removed the mount from the car, but not a big deal. I would recommend this and I would buy it again.

Was easy to install. Be sure to read the instructions. There are adjustment screws you need to use for a snug fit. Loaded easily before my paddle. After a few hours of paddling, I did not have the strength to get the kayak back on. I am a big, strong guy. My kayak is only 68 pounds. Thought I could do it. Fortunately, someone came along and pushed it right up for me. I an going to try it again with the bow rope looped up around the carrier bar. Otherwise, I will only be taking it where I know I can get some help loading.

I love this rack! Easy to load and unload your kayak from and easy to strap it down. It's very solid and my kayak does n't move when traveling at 65 mph. No bow or stern tie straps are even necessary when going short distances at 55- 60 mph. My kayak lies flat and does n't allow the wind to push my vehicle while traveling. Compared to other kayak carriers it is also very affordable. I would definitely recommend this rack.

Works great. Like most Thule products the instructions are at best vague. Plan on redoing it at least once. The biggest challenge is the integration with the Caprock. When you put a Caprock over the back you take off the cross bars. So now you have two crossbars with no known future to store or throw away( bleh). I would also note that another three inches in height would make the product much more versatile, as others have noted. All- in- all though a great product!

I stack two kayaks on each other and pull them up together. I 'm probably getting close to the max weight that way but it works for my situation. Hardware is sturdy. Rope seems soft but has n't worn out after a few years use. Just something I keep an eye on. Works well. After all this time I expect the hardware to continue to be robust and the rope is doing better than expected. The rope may be intentionally done that way to help with the auto lock feature which is great when you ate toed and pulling up heavy loads. I 'd buy another one without hesitation.

I have been transporting my Kayak for almost 20 years and have had various Kayak specific carriers. These are great carriers and very stable. It only took me 15 minutes to install the first time, the next time it took about 8 minutes. I remove them between trips and so far it has been really easy. As a canoeist/kayaker for 47 years, I 've tied/racked/trucked a lot of boats. I can recommend the quality of the Malone racks... study frames, reliable attachment system to the car/van, good padding to avoid damage to the boats, good sturdy straps for securing the racks& boats. However, I have been using 2 sets of the Malone J- Racks which can stay attached to the vehicle but can be folded down when not in active use. Getting the racks folded or back into place is very easy and I think can make setting the straps before racking the boat a tad easier than a stationary rack. I like the idea of calling less attention to the fact I have the racks on at all, also cuts down on wind resistence and noise. Just bought this a week and a half ago, arrived very quick, 3 days tops. Put it together in a maybe an hour, was a fun project for me and the man. Goes great on the porch, such a space saver for our kayaks! Spaced out the hooks more than what the picture shows and they fit great our 3 are 10 footers. No more kayaks on the floor or tilted against the wall.. its so sturdy that I stubbed and broke my pinky toe on the foot of it not even a week after having it! I am new to this sport but wanted to store my kayak correctly so I bought this product based on others taking the time to write a review. I am using it for 2 kayaks and it doesnt move one bit putting the kayaks on and yes it did take more time to put together than it would of had the parts been labeled with numbers or letters or if the instructions had been in color but it did go together and works great.

I bought the malone saddle pro and I love it. My problem before was I was unable to lift a kayak by myself for it to sit sideways on the roof of my SUV. Easy installment, adjusts to the shape of my kayak. I should of bought this setup last year. Would suggest this product to anyone.

I recently bought this for my first kayak( Perception) L. L. Bean Manatee 10. 0. It installed nicely on my 2010 Chevy Equinox and with the help of the Thule slide, I am able to lift and load without any help. It was a nice snug transport of 10 miles driving 55mph. I am a 44 year old, 5' 3 '' female. In purchasing this item, I researched the ability to load by myself, cost of the product and being able to attach the saddle to a factory installed roof rack. The fact that I will probably be able to use this on my next car was also a bonus.

Purchased this saddle for my Wilderness Ride System 115. Previously had the Yakima Evenkeel which sucked for my yak because it was too heavy. The Malone Saddleup Pro is a lot better as far as quality goes. It is VERY easy to assemble and only takes a few minutes. It is also very ridgid and strong. This kayak saddle has made my life easier. We bought this a week ago to store two kayaks outside in our carport. We had to buy a 2x4 to hang it between two support posts that were too far apart to use for the sling, but everything else came included in the package as advertised. Our kayaks weigh about 45 lbs each and it did take two of us to get them in the sling, but I think one strong person could do it alone, especially the bottom one. Price was great, under$ 30. Hopefully it will last as it is protected from sun and rain.

I bought this to attach to my Nissan Juke( which has no roof rack of any type) so that I could transport my 10- foot, 50 pound kayak. It was very easy to setup. It took less than ten minutes. I transported my kayak on a seven- hour journey mainly on the highway going just under 70 mph and the kayak did n't move at all. When I got to my destination, it took less than five minutes to remove the inflatable roof rack. The rack did not seem to have deflated at all during the journey. I did add extra ratcheting straps to attach the front of the kayak to the front bumper and the back of the kayak to the back bumper for extra stability. I 'm very pleased that I was able to find this inexpensive solution for transporting my kayak. So much cheaper than purchasing a roof rack, and in some ways, the little bit of `` give '' in the inflatable rack might be an advantage over a hard metal rack.

Building process was a bit more cumbersome than anticipated. Instructions were almost minimal, which I would have preferred more script than just generic pictures of how it supposed to attach onto the bed of the truck. I also was not given any spare parts for anything section of the build( Very Nerve Wracking). After building the entire system I am very pleased and very happy with my purchase and absolutely love that I can collapse and adjust the rack system to my liking, that was a very big pro! All in all I would recommend anyone this rack system as long as it fits the sizing requirements which is almost all trucks. Something to note for others, I knew this before purchase and was n't any issue for my intended uses, is that the rack sits an inch or two under the cab height. This is definitely something to be aware of but overall very pleased with this system!

Purchased this about a month ago to transport 2 kayaks on the weekend. I liked that these can be folded down when not in use vs some of the others I looked at. By the 3rd trip my son and I can have the kayaks mounted in about 10 minutes and less to get down. Only advice, which may be obvious, is to make sure the mounting nuts on the bottom side are tight prior to putting the kayaks up there as I find I can get about 3/4 turn in between trips.

This is my third purchase and installation of a YakGear anchor trolley kit. I loved it on my first two kayaks and had to have it for my new Pelican Catch 100 also purchased from Dick ’s. I often fish areas where winds and/or currents carry me away from a hot spot and force me to quit fishing in order to paddle back to where the fish are. The trolley allows me to stay put and to be pointed in the right direction at the same time. Installation was easy thanks to multiple how- to videos on the internet. Only tools required are a drill and a Phillips screwdriver or rivet gun. Great product at a good price.

I bought one for my first kayak and it was easy to install especially after seeing it on YouTube. I have used it a lot in shallow lakes and in Lake Michigan. It holds well and is completely adjustable allowing me to anchor and fish at any angle to the wind or sun. I now have a newer kayak and will mount 2 of this same product, one on each side. I also use it with a drift sock. Works perfect.

Installed on a Wilderness Pungo 120 using You Tube directions. The written directions were confusing. Using You Tube, installation was a piece of cake. I 've only used the set up twice. Each trip it worked great. The second trip was windy with 10- 13 mph. winds. Anchored with the wind at my back so I was able to cast left, right and front. Glad I had the set up, otherwise the trip would have been a bust. Fishing would have been impossible.
