I 've been using jitterbugs and hulapoppers all my life. They work so well that I wear them out. A black jitterbug after dusk is a guaranteed bass catcher. One thing I 've learned: remove the forward barbs. It unscrews. Bass hit the tail of the lure or swallow it whole. All the forward barb does is cause bleeding( mine). Save the forward barb incase the rear one breaks.

I 've fished this frog in ponds that get a lot of fishing pressure, and caught dozens of bass like I was fishing somebody's private pond! I reccomend fishing it with braided line though, so you do n't get your heart broken when what would 've been your PB breaks your line. Theres multiple ways to fish this frog, but either way you 're gon na catch fish on this frog. It's a pretty durable soft plastic, but after several fish you may need to rehook it or put a new frog on. Depends on how feisty your fish is! Overall though, this is definitely a soft plastic bait you need for your tackle arsenal.

I fish frogs a lot in Indiana and Minnesota in the summer and spend my winters fishing in Florida. This bait has the best hook- up ratio I have ever used. And I have tried them all. A great buy and a dynamic bait. Caught a lot of big' uns on this bait.

I would first cut off about an inch of the legs. You will then have the best frog on the market. The hook up ratio is much higher than the much more expensive frogs.

A buzz frog fishing lure is designed to mimic the movement and appearance of frogs on the water's surface, attracting predatory fish. These lures typically feature a buoyant body and a propeller or blade that creates a buzzing sound and surface disturbance as they are retrieved. When retrieved at varying speeds, they can create a realistic hopping or swimming action, enticing fish to strike. Anglers often use these lures in areas with heavy cover, such as lily pads or weeds, where fish are likely to be hiding.
Buzz frog lures are particularly effective in environments with thick vegetation, such as lily pads, grass beds, and other types of cover where fish tend to hide. They are designed to create surface commotion, making them ideal for shallow waters where fish are actively feeding. Additionally, these lures can be used in both freshwater and brackish waters, attracting species that are drawn to topwater action. Using buzz frog lures in these settings can enhance your chances of enticing strikes from predatory fish.
When selecting a buzz frog fishing lure, consider features such as the design and shape, which can affect how the lure moves through the water. Look for materials that provide durability and realistic action, as well as colors and patterns that mimic natural prey. Additionally, the presence of noise-making components can attract fish, while a weedless design helps navigate through vegetation. Finally, ensure the size of the lure matches the type of fish you are targeting.
Buzz frog lures are designed to mimic the movement and sound of frogs on the water's surface, making them effective for attracting predatory fish. Unlike traditional lures that may sink or dive, buzz frogs create a commotion on top of the water, which can provoke aggressive strikes from fish. They are particularly useful in shallow waters and around vegetation, where fish often hunt for prey. Many anglers appreciate their versatility and the unique action they provide compared to other lure types.
Buzz frog fishing lures are typically constructed from durable materials such as soft plastics, which provide a realistic feel and action in the water. Many lures also incorporate features like rubber or silicone skirts to enhance their movement and attract fish. Additionally, some models may include metal components for added weight and stability during casting. These materials work together to create effective lures that mimic the appearance and behavior of frogs in their natural habitat.
Buzz frog fishing lures are typically available in a range of sizes to accommodate different fishing conditions and preferences. Common sizes include small, medium, and large options, allowing anglers to choose based on the type of fish they are targeting and the water conditions. Many lures also feature adjustable weights or designs that can affect their overall size and presentation in the water. It's important to consider the size of the lure in relation to the species you are fishing for and the environment.
Buzz frog lures are commonly used to target species such as bass, particularly largemouth and smallmouth bass. These lures mimic the movement of frogs on the water's surface, making them effective for enticing predatory fish during warmer months. Anglers often use buzz frog lures in areas with heavy vegetation or near lily pads, where these fish are likely to be hiding. The topwater action of these lures can provoke aggressive strikes, making them a popular choice for many freshwater fishing enthusiasts.
To use buzz frog lures effectively, focus on a steady, consistent retrieve to create surface commotion that attracts fish. Vary your speed to find what works best, as some fish may respond better to a fast retrieve while others prefer a slower approach. Additionally, target areas with heavy cover, such as lily pads or submerged vegetation, where fish are likely to ambush prey. Experiment with pauses in your retrieve to mimic the natural movement of prey and increase your chances of a strike.
Seasonal changes can significantly influence the effectiveness of buzz frog fishing lures. During warmer months, when water temperatures rise, fish are often more active and may be found near the surface, making buzz lures particularly effective for enticing strikes. In contrast, during cooler seasons, fish may be less aggressive and deeper in the water, which can require adjustments in technique or lure choice. Additionally, factors like spawning seasons can affect fish behavior, prompting anglers to adapt their strategies accordingly.
When choosing a buzz frog fishing lure, consider the type of water you'll be fishing in, as some lures are designed for specific conditions like heavy cover or open water. Think about the size and color of the lure, as these factors can influence visibility and attract fish in different environments. Additionally, consider the retrieval speed and action of the lure, as some are designed to create more surface disturbance, which can be effective in enticing strikes. Lastly, match the lure to the species you are targeting, as different fish may respond better to certain styles and presentations.
