I bought this cooler on a Friday morning since I was going camping in 90 degree weather and needed something that would keep my food cold for a few days. On Friday at 11: 00am I put 6( 7lb) bags of ice in it and loaded it up with tons of food I had prepped to feed 7 people. I got to the campsite at 3pm and the temperature was 92 degrees. I put it in the shade. Saturday it was 98 degrees. I got home Sunday( 92 degrees) evening and took all the food out and drained some of the water out and put it back in my car. I left ice in it because I wanted to see how long it would last. It has been in my car for 24 hours and there is still a good amount of ice chunks in it( see photo). I am impressed. I was worried as some of the reviews mentioned cheap handles but I feel like it is pretty sturdy and didn ’ t have any issues.

This cooler really has everything I was looking for in a performance cooler. The insulation is great. It has secure closing tabs. It has a drain plug. It has a bottle opener. It is a little on the heavy side but all of the good in this cooler can not happen without some weight. Having said that, this cooler is much lighter than many of its competitors. Some folks dig on coolers not keeping cool as long as advertised. It is important to realize that if you put ice/drinks/food in a warm cooler you are bound to have some initial melting just to bring the temperature down. Add some ice prior to using the cooler and it will last really well. No question it's a great deal for what you get.

I like the Trailmate 25. It is big but not bulky or too heavy like some coolers in this size range. It has a metal handle with a nice rubberized grip on it. While similar to other models Igloo offers, this cooler has a seal in the lid, improved rubber latches, drain plug, and heavy duty hinges on the back. It is made in USA which I appreciate and is very solid. Not sure how many total days it can retain ice, since I only use for weekend use. I hope this lasts me many years. Overall I would recommend this cooler. Minor issues that could be improved: 1. I would like the handle to `` lock '' in the upright position to reduce the cooler from swaying side to side while carrying it. 2. The notches where the rubber latches secure are hollow underneath. This allows the latches to scrape/scuff the plastic edges which could possibly wear down overtime. 3. The drain plug could be a tad lower in the cooler so it does n't have to be tipped to drain the last remaining water. 4. I added no- skid furniture pads to the bottom to reduce scratches and scuffs and increase grip for transportation.

First and foremost, this was the cheapest cooler I could find on any site with the reviews it had so I took a chance. I go car camping a lot but I have always used other peoples coolers and never owned one myself. I originially bought the yeti 110 when they were in desert tan, i loved this cooler it has been all over the mountains of se oklahoma in jeeps and my rzr, and seen many miles from the back of my work truck, it had plenty of room for drinks and food for me and my crew, i always choose to use my personal yeti cooler because of the longevity of ice.. After using it for a couple back to back weekends on the Colorado River above Moab in 100+ degree heat I ’ m a believer. I got the ICF60 recently and finally got a chance to use it. I set the cooler to 0F, put about 15 pounds of frozen venison in the cooler, put the cooler inside the car and headed out. Over the course of the 6 hour drive, I never heard a sound from it and I was about 2 feet from it the entire time. About an hour from my destination, I had to unplug the cooler from the cigarette lighter. When I get to my destination, the meat was still frozen and hard as a rock! The real test for this will be in the summer here in Arizona, but so far its an amazing cooler, definitely lasts longer than my tundra haul. 5 days with original ice and its solid as a rock. The really cool thing that yeti does n't mention is it comes with a cover with the sides cut open to allow use of the handles for transport and protecting the metal finish! I wish they made covers for their tundras so it would help keep the sun off.

I have a tundra haul,( 2) 45s, and a 35. But I had to pull the trigger on this sexy piece of engineering design. It ’s definitely going to be my stay at home cooler for patio and get togethers. I attached photos next to a tundra 45. The thinner walls definitely help out a lot to reduce cooler overall size yet gain area inside. Outstanding! Purchased the ICF 18 a month ago and used for 8 days straight without any problem. We found our perfect temp was 34 degrees. This cooler was spot on with the temperature although the smaller compartment above the compressor was just a few degrees higher. We opted to use that area for soda cans and items that weren ’ t as sensitive to temperature. The main area kept things really cold. I used a refrigerator thermometer before our trip and felt the internal thermometer was spot on within a degree or two. For longer trips or families the 32( size wise might be better), but we are happy with our choice! The unit was powered with a portable power supply that kept our Igloo running all day while driving with power to spare! To be fair, the Igloo was in a climate controlled car nearly all the time. Hope this helps and we would highly recommend the Igloo ICF 18. It is also very quiet as someone else mentioned. The cooler( fully loaded) was also manageable for a couple of seniors to lift in and out of our car. Good job and Thank you Igloo!!!

Having the bottle opener on the front is a life saver as i know that it will be used alot I think the only way it could possibly be any better is if there were a big handle and wheels on it but no complaints here at all great product

Keeps things cold much longer than a cheaper brand cooler I use also. I definitely am going to get another one to keep food cold and safe to eat. [ I love the sleek look of this cooler! It is advertised to hold temperature/keep ice cold for 4 days which it easily does! It is on the larger side( 54 quarts) and easily held all of our food for a 4 day camping trip for our family of 4, but still fit nicely in the trunk of our small car with the rest of our camping supplies. The cooler construction is very nice! The latch is nice and sturdy and the cooler lid can hold up to 250lbs( worked as an in a pinch chair!) When we were all done with our trip, the cooler was super easy to drain! It has a built in channel drain, so you do n't have to awkwardly tilt it to empty it. We will be using this cooler quite a bit this summer!

I strayed from the Yeti brand for this! It's perfect for my lunch and snacks all day.... Fits even the large Yeti ice blocks. I loved the shoulder strap option for carrying.... not just handles. I also really liked that the shoulder strap ends are secured with metal clasps rather than plastic.

I travel frequently for Kayak Bass Fishing( KBF) tournaments and frequently camp off grid in preparation for tournaments. Many of these trips will last 3- 4 days and in the heat of the summer water is essential. In years past I have used gallon jugs and or leaky water coolers. Owning many other Yeti products including a Tundra cooler, I knew I had to have the Silo 6G. I just needed to find an excuse to convince my wife we needed one. When she told me we were hosting a New Years Eve party this year and she needed a large container to hold bulk libations, I knew this was my prime opportunity! Last night we prepped 6 gallons of spiked punch and it fit perfectly! While we opted for no ice to prevent watering down our concoction, I have no doubt about ice retention. There is one thing I wish Yeti would have included on the Silo 6G, a lock- out on the spigot. As soon as we got the Silo all filled up with our ingredients, what was the first thing my 4 year old did? She went over and pushed the button, causing boozy goodness to efficiently flow through the Surepour Spigot all down the front of her and all down the front of my white cabinets. Oh well, at least we still have 5. 9 gallons to ring in the new year with. Yeti, once again, has knocked it out of the park!

[ Bought this cooler for camping with our rv after spending a lot of money through the week on ice with our old cooler. This cooler keeps everything cold beyond what we ever thought any cooler could! When camping last August at the beach, we bought$ 15 dollars in ice. That ’s nothing compared to$ 20- 25 bucks before we bought it. I don ’ t think we would have spent that much, but it was so hot and humid, it played a part in ice consumption. Aside from that, we have gone 3 days without adding ice. The ice might be melted, but when you stick your hand in for a drink, it ’s still very cold! Highly recommend any Coleman products.

Purchased this cooler 3 years ago and it has been extremely durable. Everyone ask where I purchased it but have not found it at Academy since. The dividers and dry storage make this an added value keeps ice for days and the stainless hinges and spring keep the lid in place. I use this cooler for every MS150 each year and it just works well.
