I am happy with the ice retention. It is great! I also purchased this for the size( and price) and while the cooler is large enough for one person's food, it is very heavy. I did n't use the shoulder strap but rather put it in a wagon and wheeled it to my campsite. I wish this smaller version came with wheels. The weight is why I did n't give it 5 stars. I realize it is heavy to keep the ice cold but I overestimated my ability to carry it and will likely never use the shoulder strap.

Bought this cooler before a 10 day caribou hunt in Alaska. Pre cooled cooler added four blocks of ice and frozen water bottles for drinking later in the week. First 3 days of trip were low seventies cooler stayed in bed of truck all ten days, on the third day shot a caribou bugs were terrible and was extremely warm put the whole animal into cooler all deboned to keep away from bugs and heat. Cooler kept ice all week and when I returned home still had over half of the ice blocks and water bottles were still mostly frozen all this after adding a warm caribou on day 3 and still had half or better ice when I returned home on day 10. One of the best purchases I have made extremely happy with the cooler. Have recommended these coolers to all my friends who hunt and fish.

I recieved the 36 can cooler and i was able to fit 24 cans plus ice. We have had a mild winter where i live so i decided to fill this cooler and test it by setting it outside for 5 days. I checked on it everyday. Day 2 still had ALL ice. Day 3 it started to melt. By day 5 all ice was melted but drinks were still ICE COLD. The magnetic lid creates an insulation like no other. I believe that is the feature that kept my drinks cold for so long. The zippers well, they are tough to open however it really seals out the warm air so i can live with it. The thing that makes the zipper so difficult is that it is outlined in silicone/rubber for a tight seal so it does serve a purpose. The front pouch is perfect size for plates& cutlery. I also love the thoughtfulness of adding a bottle opener. Overall, i think this is a great cooler and i cant wait to see how it works while outside, camping in the hot summers. I would recommend.

This cooler really has everything I was looking for in a performance cooler. The insulation is great. It has secure closing tabs. It has a drain plug. It has a bottle opener. It is a little on the heavy side but all of the good in this cooler can not happen without some weight. Having said that, this cooler is much lighter than many of its competitors. Some folks dig on coolers not keeping cool as long as advertised. It is important to realize that if you put ice/drinks/food in a warm cooler you are bound to have some initial melting just to bring the temperature down. Add some ice prior to using the cooler and it will last really well. No question it's a great deal for what you get.

It is made in USA which I appreciate and is very solid. Not sure how many total days it can retain ice, since I only use for weekend use. I hope this lasts me many years. Overall I would recommend this cooler. Minor issues that could be improved: 1. I would like the handle to `` lock '' in the upright position to reduce the cooler from swaying side to side while carrying it. 2. The notches where the rubber latches secure are hollow underneath. This allows the latches to scrape/scuff the plastic edges which could possibly wear down overtime. 3. The drain plug could be a tad lower in the cooler so it does n't have to be tipped to drain the last remaining water. 4. I added no- skid furniture pads to the bottom to reduce scratches and scuffs and increase grip for transportation.

The zipper is a little bit hard to open at first but once I put on the lubricant that came with it it ’s a lot easier to open. I like that the lid is magnetic incase you accidentally leave the lid unzipped at least the magnet will keep the cooler closed. I put ice in this cooler at 8am and a whole 24 hours later the ice was a little melted but there was still plenty of ice left! This cooler is perfect for the beach to hold not only cans, but food and other necessities. There's even an optional carrying strap to hook on so that you can carry this over your shoulder. The bottom of the cooler is is made of durable rubber so nothing is going to leak out or leak in. Besides using this to go to the beach( I live steps from the beach) I also plan on using this to transport groceries as I know they 'll be kept nice and cold. Way to go Coleman for making such an awesome product!
