The DMM Ceros Quicklock Carabiner is my favorite for tubes and this has become my favorite for assisted device. I use it with the Mad Rock Lifeguard and of course they match up perfect. I love these carabiners simply for the fact that they are n't over the top expensive, and its easy to carry a bunch of them without getting weighted down. The bluff I usually climb at is about a mile hike up a very steep slope, and often times I 'm camping out there too, so having light weight gear is always a bonus. The only draw back is that the size does make them a little more difficult to maneuver through/around a lot of other gear( if your setting a top rope in a precarious position for example) but I 've also never had it present an actual problem.

The RockLock has to be the best twist lock around. I was looking for a larger twist lock pear shape carabiner with a large gate opening to use on my cowtails for caving and this hit the mark. This is the largest opening I can find in a twist lock. Twist lock is super easy to open with thicker/muddy gloves on. Easier to clean/decon and durable. Larger opening makes these super easy to use at anchors, quick to clip safety lines, or to clip the ledge above your anchor knot. I also use these for making a top rope anchor as remember to screw the gate down, I ’ m bad with that, and it doesn ’ t take two hands to manipulate like a trilock. I can not recommend these more.

[ As an arborist, working requires locking carabiners and snaps. I have been using the Am ’ d for as long as there has been a locking option. I have seen many changes over the years. This is my favorite incarnation by far. It is lighter than many other auto lockers, and this version of the ball lock is my personal favorite. The double auto locking ball is useable with gloved hands, which previous versions struggled to accommodate. I can refer the ball lock over the triact version due to the way they wear. I have had the triact fail to close when they get the older. This appears to be because of wear on the pin that aligns the key lock. This is a minor annoyance for me, because it is still usable for recreation. The size is versatile. Large gate opening accommodates every thing I throw at it, without being as bulky as previous versions. The shape seems to stay oriented well compared to other binders I own.

They are only 3 `` most are 4 '' so it takes a little getting use to but opens almost as big as standard carabiner. But 2 or 3 times lighter. I also love the thin nose. [ I own two CAMP Photon rack packs, and so far have had zero issues. Overall finish on them is high quality, and the anodizing matches well with Wild Country Friends. The wire gate snaps shut and has decent spring tension, without being so stiff as to make clipping in difficult. [ Have used this new carabiner as a climbing arborist and mountaineering, and already impressed. It locks in easily and securely to a harness, ropes feed smoothly, it's lighter than my other locking 'biners, and it looks cool( got the silver with teal on the twist lock). The steel insert on the upper inside is a smart addition- prevents rope wear.

[ Always keep one of these on my harness. Typically use it for extended rappels. Am a big fan of all the Bulletproof line by Edelrid. Once one gets used to doing the triple action one- handed it is very easy, quick and secure to use. It's a locker, so what else is there to say? These are really bombproof.

[ I got this carabiner for both caving and climbing belay. For caving I like it on my bobbin because it prevent crossloading when you are doing change overs and rebelays. For climbing it has been great to keep things properly orientated. Love the color too!!

[ The purpose of this biner is to avoid cross- loading while belaying. Pros:- Easy to install on belay loop.- Does n't require opening the gate to open the belay- loop lock( like the BD one does).- Has a thick spine and large locking barrel to prevent a gri- gri from sliding in either direction.- The locking barrel is damped, and so does n't move if rattled while not locked all the way.- The locking barrel has a lot of extra travel- even if it started to come open, it would have to twist many times before allowing the gate to open.- Belay- loop lock spring tension is nice and high.- Quite light for the functionality! Cons:- The belay- loop gate makes racking a gri- gri on your harness slightly more awkward.( The grigri ends up sitting at the large end, and the wire gate sits on your gear loop).- The wide spine( a feature noted above) reduces the versatility of the biner, since it does n't fit into small holes( bolts, etc) as easily. But that's alright, since it's meant just for belaying anyway.

I have climbed using them 10 times already and can say that they are some of my favorite draws I have ever used. They are lightweight and much smaller than the typical draw but are still large enough that my fingers dont get caught when clipping. I was nervous about the size at first as I do have large fingers but they are perfect.
