Best line on the market for the cost. Never had a problem

5 timbuk3
Fish a lot for Smallmouth in the local rivers. This stuff holds up great in 6 lb. on light equipment. It takes a lot of punishment and holds a knot. Never lost a hooked fish yet to breakage or slipping a tie. Good feel of everything.

5 Hawkin
I just noticed that no one has reviewed this fine line! I 've used it for a few seasons now for Lake Trout, Salmon and Walleyes and it is the best line I have ever used, and I 've used alot! It ties nice, does n't tangle when pulled off the reel, lays flat on the water and I 've caught some nice fish and lost less that one hand count over the years because of line failure. I 've had hooks pull right out of the lure but the knot and line held. I use 12 lb for salmon w/6 or 8 lb leader( same type as main line) and 17 lb for lake trout w/12 or 14 lb leader. I respool 8 rods every year and always did when I used Brand X but the results are definitely better with Trilene XT low vis monofilament.

5 mattyd24

5 ginoe
turned my resonator banjo into an open- back. took off the steel strings and restrung it using this mono leader in open g tuning; 20lb: 5th& 1st strings, 30lb: 3rd& 2nd strings, 40lb: 4th string. once the leader stopped stretching& finally settled in, the banjo stays in tune. if i ever break a string, 50yds will last a lifetime.

5 cjlorenz81
I have purchased this to use on my light tackle inshore rods a while back as leader material. I use the 15lb test variety in a 3- 6' leader configuration depending on where I 'm fishing and what the structure is like below. I 've landed quite a few monster Jacks using this leader material with minimal wear and tear to the leader. I have lost one hard fighting blue runner but that's because I failed to inspect the leader after a hard jack fight. Have yet to have lost anything else since using this leader material. It does disappear quite nicely in the water.

5 Air101st
Good Stuff! very strong.... Never had any issues. It was put to the test a couple of months ago ran into some small Black Tip Sharks. They where hitting my bait pretty hard and leaders I made where holding up. I was able to get they to the boat to DE hook them. And was able to use the leader again for a couple more catches before changing it..

Frequently Asked Questions For Clear Monofilament Fishing Line

Clear monofilament fishing line is popular among anglers due to its invisibility in water, making it less detectable to fish. It offers good strength and flexibility, allowing for smooth casting and retrieval. Additionally, this type of line is resistant to abrasion, which helps it withstand encounters with underwater structures.

The diameter of clear monofilament fishing line plays a crucial role in its performance. Thinner lines provide better sensitivity and casting distance, while thicker lines offer increased strength and durability. Choosing the right diameter depends on the type of fishing you plan to do and the species you are targeting.

When selecting clear monofilament fishing line, consider factors such as water clarity, type of fish, and fishing environment. In clear water, a thinner line may be beneficial to avoid detection, while in murky conditions, a thicker line can provide added strength. Additionally, consider the fishing technique you will be using, as some methods may require specific line characteristics.

Clear monofilament fishing line is versatile and can be used for various types of fishing, including freshwater and saltwater applications. However, it may not be the best choice for every situation. For example, in heavy cover or when targeting larger species, braided lines or fluorocarbon lines may offer better performance.

Clear monofilament fishing line is known for its inherent stretch, which can be advantageous in certain fishing scenarios. This stretch can help absorb shock during a fight with a fish, reducing the risk of breakage. However, too much stretch can also lead to a loss of sensitivity, making it harder to detect bites, so it's important to balance stretch with the specific fishing conditions.
