I just got this in the mail today and went fishing. Very high quality, great feel, amazing speed, and great looking as well. Only thing that was wrong was that it shows the color in black and gold but it came in red and black. I ’ m not really upset but I am very impressed with this reel itself!

I 'm still working on my skills with baitcasting reels. This Megajaws is the other side of the coin compared with me other reels. It is compact, light and well finished. It help me a to work on the precision instead of worrying about getting bird nests.

I have been very familiar with their fishing products since purchasing my first tackle bag from them about five years ago. They have yet to dissapoint. I have owned the standard MegaJaws reel and this one well surpasses it.

I just ordered this reel last week and wanted to provide a detailed review of my recent purchase. Just as another reviewer shared, it is advertised as black, but my reel was a vibrant red. I spooled it with a 10lb braid and cast it with soft plastics with a 1oz weight. I set the tension so the lure just barely dropped from the end of the rod, then set the drag to 5/10. There are micro- adjust settings between the typical settings, meaning 0. 5 increments are possible. Once casting, wow, this thing can really send the bait pretty far. I would estimate I was regularly getting 35- 40yard casts on a relatively lightweight lure. Plus I was able to drop it the lure exactly where I wanted it to go. The reel is pretty typical size in the hand when palming. I would say its not the biggest or smallest, but it was comfortable to use. There is another switch on the back of the reel that changes the reel function to allow for flipping and pitching. I 've never seen this before on a reel and typically just used my thumb on the spool. When this is activated, you press the button holding it during the flip and let- go when you want the line to stop advancing. It took a few tries to get used to, but is still very intuitive to use. If you forget to switch it back when going back to do a normal long cast, it can be a surprise. However, I think it is a nice feature. I was able to catch some bass as a local pond with it and the drag was very smooth. There are a lot of bearings on this reel, box says 11+1, and it feels like it. I have multiple bait- casters, including some other higher end models, and this MegaJaws Elite reel fits right along side the others.

This stuff has been impossible to find in stores. I always had to order it. As with most people that fish a lot( 4+ times a week), we tend to be very particular about things. I have rods with braid, mono, and Florida for different applications. The ML spinning reels normally got 8lb Ande mono which has been great, but I always wanted something with less stretch. Small twitchbaits usually mean some line slack, which really plays havoc with braid after a while, especially in the wind. I really like the sufix advance. Lower stretch than regular mono, very supple, very smooth, decently tough, overall a great line. For the price, I think everyone should try it.

This is the best nonbraided line ever. Has less stretch than flouro and is more sensitive. Has extreme abrasion resistance but casts really well and far. Sufix hit a home run with this line. I just wish Dick's would have the green in stores.

Use this line alot it is easy to cast and very strong and sensitive for feeling light bites. I use the 4- 6- 8lb line so I ca n't comment on the heavier lines but I have pulled up quite a few branches off the bottom without the line breaking or the knot failing! Of course I have caught many nice sized bass and pickerel on this line. I really reccomend this line for finnese fishing nedrig and neko rig and many other applications. Have no idea why this line is not available in bulk spools but I hope they will at some time! Try this line it is really good line!

Casting is smooth, tangle free, almost ivisible in the water. ... I am able to cast a good 25 to 30 yards extra distance over using a regular monofilament

This was my first jump to braided line, and I went into it with some reservations. I 'd heard that braided line is too stiff, creates a lot of birdsnests, and is costly. I can say that this product did none of the above. I am able to cast a good 25 to 30 yards extra distance over using a regular monofilament line. I am not losing nearly as many lures when fishing for bass around fallen trees and rip- rap. After the first weekend of using this brand I went back to Dick's and bought more to respool my other poles.

I purchased Sufix Braid fishing line recently and used for the first time. I really like the 50# test. It is thinner and quieter than other braid I used. It also has better sensitvity.

This is the line for those of you who think fluorocarbon is too expensive but need a little extra abrasion resistance. 20lb held up to snook without any problem. I used this as a leader. Also have this as my main line for a couple baitcasters for bass fishing. More supple than 100% fluorocarbon and much cheaper. You can replace your line as needed and not feel like you are pulling$ 25. 00 off of your spool every time.

This line performed great as you can see by this 32lb Blue cat!!
Long cast fishing line is designed to enhance casting distance, allowing anglers to reach farther spots with ease. Its construction often includes low memory and smooth surface features, which help reduce friction during casting. This type of line can also improve accuracy, making it easier to target specific areas in the water.
Long cast fishing lines are typically made from materials such as monofilament, fluorocarbon, and braided fibers. Monofilament lines offer flexibility and stretch, while fluorocarbon lines are known for their invisibility underwater and resistance to abrasion. Braided lines provide high strength and sensitivity, making them popular for long-distance casting.
The diameter of long cast fishing line plays a crucial role in its performance, as thinner lines can reduce drag and improve casting distance. A smaller diameter also allows for better line control and sensitivity when detecting bites. However, it's important to balance diameter with strength and durability based on the fishing conditions and target species.
Long cast fishing line is ideal for various fishing techniques, including surf fishing, boat fishing, and targeting species in open water. Its ability to cast farther makes it particularly useful in situations where fish are located at a distance, such as in large lakes or ocean environments. Anglers often use it for both freshwater and saltwater fishing.
Weather conditions can significantly impact the performance of long cast fishing line. Windy conditions may require a heavier line to maintain control during casting, while calm weather allows for lighter lines that can achieve greater distances. Additionally, water temperature and clarity can influence the choice of line material, with some anglers preferring fluorocarbon in clear waters for its low visibility.
