Great product for the money. No issues with jamming so far. Casts well and the clicker is great. If money is no object than get yourself a catfish series Abu, if money is tight this reel will work well if you are familiar with using baitcasting reels. If you 're going for bigger cats you might consider changing the line.

I bought this reel used it a few times went back and bought another. So far I have no complaints. I have caught several 10plus pounds cAtfish with even a couple exceeding the 30 lbs mark had no issue at all pulling them in..

Left hand wind is a must for me. I am right handed but never figured out why so many people choose to cast with their right hand and then switch hands so they can wind with their right hand. The size and weight are also just right as I mainly fish for striped bass and blue catfish with this reel perfect on a seven foot medium action rod and 15 lb. test mono. I caught a fish on my second cast and anticipate catching many more in the future.

X. for something like 20 years, fishing freshwater for anything up to Lake Ontario Salmon to Saltwater Plugging for Bluefish, Striped Bass and Wahoo from boat off NJ coast. `` BEST '' fishing reel ever made! During all these years of catching fish up to 30 pounds, it has never let me down. Just got another Rod for largemouth Bass and beach fishing in the Gulf, so it needs a good reel. We have a pair of these in the rocket tubes for Northeast striper fishing. They are on Ugly Stik 6. 5' Tiger Elites. The reel is strong, big crank, the level winder is strong enough for 40# plus stripers and its one less thing to worry about when you are hooked up with a big bass. Plenty of drag and they hold a lot of braid( we use 30 pound Spiderwire). Just make sure you wash them well, they are not saltwater sealed as good as others. Not a lot of bearings but smooth and tough.
