I am recovering from a right foot Achilles tendon rupture surgery. I have been in a boot for 3 months. I at first needed a sturdy shoe to wear on my left foot to give me support and a little height to get close to matching the boot height. Today I get to wear shoes on both feet but still with heel lifts in my right shoe. It is all working. Great support. The soles are firm, which I love. I don ’ t like soft and mushy. They also look terrific. I will be able to( have to) wear them as I dress for holiday functions. I have medium wide feet and they fit just fine. As soon as I received Merrell's email about these several weeks ago, I was intrigued. I really liked their look and style; plus being waterproof was also a benefit. As soon as I saw that they had gone on Merrell's Holiday discount, I grabbed a pair at a great price. I 've been wearing Moabs for years and they have all been exceptional. I did notice that the footbed under the ball of my foot seemed to be a bit thinner than my other Moabs. However, it might simply be that these Moab 3 Luxe have a more aggressive tread. Either way, after a day or so the footbed cradled to my foot, and I 've been delighted. I still do need to get used to the newer thinner slightly flatter laces, and do wish they were a few inches longer.

This shoe is a reinvention of the Moab Smooth from a few years ago that was probably the best boot made by this company. In this new version there have been some upgrades in terms of styling, but as with the original one of the best features is that it's much more water resistant than the traditional boot with the brushed or `` suede '' style material. None of their boots are truly waterproof but this one probably comes the closest so it's my favorite and I 've bought several pairs already.

I 've had 4 or 5 pairs of these over the last dozen years. I had a spiral fracture of a bone in my foot, and some shoes I just ca n't even walk in---- but with these, I can walk for miles and miles! The support and comfort are wonderful. I worked in a large assembly plant for years, and these made it possible to walk everywhere, all the time. I highly recommend, and am in process of buying another pair right now.

Initially the full size down felt like the perfect size after wearing them once or twice they loosened a tiny bit. 1- 1/2 size down may be the sweet spot but I am happy with one full size down& thick sock combo.

All of the materials used are high quality and I don ’ t see any major imperfections on the shoe. They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time after breaking them in for a couple of days. The ankle is supported very well with some bolstering around the collar. The tongue feels super soft and it ’s almost like it has some extra padding inside of it. There are even holes throughout the length of the tongue to help with breathability. The translucent sole is a really clean touch and is a great way to show the Jordan jumpman underneath. It is a unique design how they blended the different jordan models in a low top and they work really well together. The box has a cool diagram showing that this model takes design elements from the 1, 2, 5, and 7 models. I like how the 23 is slightly offset on the heel tab to add a little bit of flair to the shoe. I think silver caps on the shoelaces would have added another layer of awesome to the shoe but other than that this is a great choice.

[ Let me preface this by saying, my household runs mostly on Jordan Retros with the Jordan 1 being the ones in rotation year round. So genuinely liking these was a surprise for sure. They still have a flexible leather like the Jordan 1 with a wider toe box in my opinion. These are extremely comfortable with no break- in period and can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts and dresses. They are a pretty versatile, neutral shoe. The color is great for the summer. The lighter color does pick up more dirt but the kids these days like their shoes to look a little more worn so it ’s not a problem. I look forward to seeing how they hold up.
