Using this mouthguard for Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu, so take that as you may. Fitting the mouthguard was a bit of a trial and error. The instructions are clear, but more than likely you wo n't get it on the first try- do n't feel discouraged, this mouthguard is super easy to remold and after a few tries, you will find that this mouthguard will mold EXCELLENTLY to your teeth, as if it were completely custom! Super easy to breathe and talk, drink water, all the necessities! I would n't recommend this mouthguard for any super high contact sports like boxing or Muay Thai, where you 'll be catching hey- makers or head kicks, but this is perfect for team sports and lower impact like wrestling and of course, Jiu Jitsu!

NOTE: If you use Shock Doctor's Mouthguard Case, be careful. Depending on how big it is after fitting to your mouth, it might be small enough to fall out of the case. Happened to my first one; went to the gym after BJJ practice and I kept the case connected to my water bottle but somewhere along the way the mouthguard fell out without me knowing. Bought another one in a brighter color and now I keep it in my bag; no problems since. The mouthguard itself fits great. Might take a few tries fitting to your mouth, but with patience and some retries you 'll get it. I use it primarily for Brazilian jiujitsu. Offers excellent breathability, the ability to talk well, and sufficient protection for my particular hobby.

This is our second Shock Doctor adult mouthguard for upper braces. My 15 year old son who plays soccer and wrestles feels like it is secure and protects his teeth. It is approved for wrestling as he is not allowed to compete with braces without a mouthguard. He has a Herbst appliance. For the first mouthguard we took it to the orthodontist to trim to fit accurately. I used that first mouthguard as a template and trimmed the second mouthguard myself with scissors. We followed the directions as best as we could and my son could n't be happier and he says it's really comfortable. Having just spend thousands on braces, I wanted more protection that is offered by the$ 3 mouth guards that have to be boiled to fit. The first mouth guard I purchased offered excellent protection, but made it almost impossible for him to speak with other players and also made it difficult to breathe. I was n't surprised when he `` lost '' it, just irritated because he told me on the way to his game. I dropped him off, made a fast dash to the nearest Dick's sporting goods store and spoke with the person covering the lacrosse section of the store. He recommended the Shock Doctor Adult Ultra 2 mouth guard and it is fantastic.
