Ryka shoes are my new favorites. My first Ryka purchase was a pair of Echo Knit Slip- on Sneakers and they fit like they were made specifically for my feet. Same thing with these LX Walking Sneakers. They hug the feet with no rubbing in any unwanted spots. They are lightweight, very cushioned and have excellent arch support. I have a long narrow foot and have a difficult time finding walking/running shoes that are narrow enough for my feet but Ryka, medium width are narrower than other brands I 've tried. I 'd recommend you order the wide width if you typically wear medium width in other brands. I 'd also recommend sizing up ½ size if these will be used for walking/running. I mistakenly ordered the same size as the Echo Knit Slip- ons I had- 8. 5 medium- but for running I should have ordered a half size larger. It's too late to return them because I 've already worn them outside for a run, but they are great for just wearing around. I guess I 'll need to order a 3rd pair of my new favorite shoes!!

I have been wearing the Devotion X for a few years now, but, as shoes with cushiony midsoles do n't maintain support for very long, and the turnover rate is high, I have been looking for a shoe that is, at least, more environmentally friendly. While the eco creds on this shoe are not high, they are, at least, a step in the right direction. They seem to fit and perform just as well as the Devotion X, so I 'm happy with them. I hope that Ryka will continue to develop shoes that use recycled materials, will last longer, or, better yet, can be part of a closed- loop system( reclaimed by Ryka or compostable). Ultimately, these shoes are wide enough for my toes( I ordered a wide width) and provide the cushioning and stability I need to abate my hip arthritis symptoms, while also helping me feel a bit better, environmentally, about my purchase.

I ’ ve been breaking in the GTX and find it is exactly what I was looking for in a walking shoe. The zip closure is convenient and allows you to loosen or tighten the shoes “ on the fly ” when you need to make an adjustment. Fit over the mid foot( I have high arches) is excellent. The laces are long enough. I played with the lacing at the upper eyelets to perfect the fit over the area of the instep closest to my ankle. Altra, please give me more fun, bright colors-- The Escalante 3 in fuchsia was a real winner. The pink is OK, but I 'd like something more bold. I ’ m obsessed with everything about The Gabby! From the moment I pulled them out of the box I knew they were special — they hit all of my favorite colors in one shoe and the lace detailing adds such a fun, stylish touch that makes them feel way more fashion- forward than your typical workout sneaker. I wore them for a lifting/stretch workout, and they were incredibly stable and secure during squats and lunges — no slipping, sliding, or rolling. I could feel that firm foundation underfoot, plus the cushioning made them comfortable even during the cool- down and stretching portions. The breathable knit upper also kept my feet comfortable and not bogged down with heat or sweat. Sizing note: I usually wear a size 6 in sneakers, and these fit well, but I probably could have sized down a half size for a slightly more snug fit.

My feet need really good arch support and cushioning and these shoes have both! I am so happy that I got them! The only thing I do n't like about them is the tongue is not cushioned and thin but it has n't caused a problem( seems to stay in place well). I have a different pair of Vionic sneakers/trainers that I like but these are far superior in comfort. They fit well on my long medium to narrow feet. If you need lots of arch support and lots of cushion these may work for you!

I feel the cushioning in the mid sole results in less leg and back pain over long distances. While the shoe more stable than the Torin 8 for overpronaters it not adequate for a `` stability '' shoe. Think if they went dual density, soft inner and stiffer foam in areas to make it far more stable. An orthotic helps with this. Altra make a wide in this shoe all you need to do it widen the mid foot mesh. Shoe stretcher fixes this. People with wide feet need a stability shoe. Torin 8 didn ’ t make the cut. This shoe should have 150mm laces instead of 140mm. Fits great around the ankles and before the mid foot, no pain or blistering. Got better around better in the mid foot as I stretched the shoe and it broke in over a few days.

I loved the fit of the 4s, but the durability was terrible. The soles wore flat in less than 100 miles. I have over 100 on the 5s and the treads still look great! I love the feel and the quality seems great. It does seem just a hair tighter than the 4, especially on the top, but not a deal breaker for me.

The Escalante is great! I know they are marketed for short distance and sprint, but they feel like a perfect minimalist shoe. I am recovering from a right foot Achilles tendon rupture surgery. I have been in a boot for 3 months. I at first needed a sturdy shoe to wear on my left foot to give me support and a little height to get close to matching the boot height. Today I get to wear shoes on both feet but still with heel lifts in my right shoe. It is all working. Great support. The soles are firm, which I love. I don ’ t like soft and mushy. They also look terrific. I will be able to( have to) wear them as I dress for holiday functions. I have medium wide feet and they fit just fine. The Hoka One One men's Bondi Sr shoe is my second pair of Hoka One One men's shoes, first recommended by my orthopedist. This recent purchase gives me two pair of Hokas so I do not need to wear the same pair two days in a row. They are supportive and very comfortable. Hoka One One has moved forward over the past several years from the downright ugly shoes I first purchased to today's styles. The down side to the shoes is that they are borderline clown shoes-- big in the forward( toe) section, not svelte.
