Kit worked well. I changed the mount from inside the trailer to outside( who wants to lose space in the trailer bed?) by getting some additional u- bolts and L- brackets to replace the bottom mounting plates. I did have to replace the bolts used to attach the tie down points, as the wrench needed to tighten them would not reach inside the cross bar.$ 2. 50 worth of slightly smaller bolts, nuts and washers fixed the issue. I still need to cut off the excess bolt threads, but it is going to work great for carrying kayaks while still allowing the trailer to be used for hauling other items.

No, I do not personally own one of the racks, but coming from a person with loads of ladder rack and vehicle rack purchasing and using experience, this may the coolest, most useful product I ’ ve ever come across. And believe me when I say, I am very OCD, we use ladder racks on all our work trucks and enclosed trailers and I have shopped just every brand and style out there. Like it so far- we have a Rav 4 Adventure and had to put the rack in the middle which makes it a little harder to get the Kayaks on the roof. It might have been better if we bought two separate units so they could be closer to the side of the Rav. Was easy to install. Be sure to read the instructions. There are adjustment screws you need to use for a snug fit. Loaded easily before my paddle. After a few hours of paddling, I did not have the strength to get the kayak back on. I am a big, strong guy. My kayak is only 68 pounds. Thought I could do it. Fortunately, someone came along and pushed it right up for me. I an going to try it again with the bow rope looped up around the carrier bar. Otherwise, I will only be taking it where I know I can get some help loading.

I love this rack! Easy to load and unload your kayak from and easy to strap it down. It's very solid and my kayak does n't move when traveling at 65 mph. No bow or stern tie straps are even necessary when going short distances at 55- 60 mph. My kayak lies flat and does n't allow the wind to push my vehicle while traveling. Compared to other kayak carriers it is also very affordable. I would definitely recommend this rack.

Despite the negative reviews, this item is easy to install and works very well for hoisting roof- top boxes, kayaks, and canoes. I recommend first fastening 3- 2 '' x6 '' x42 '' boards to the ceiling to simplify installation. This makes for a very sturdy installation, allows you to install parallel or perpendicular to the rafter direction, and eliminates the issue of rafter spacing. The center brackets accept 5/16 '' lag screws, and the pulley brackets accept 1/4 '' lag screws. I used 5/16 '' x 3- 1/2 '' lags to fasten the 2 '' x6 '' boards to the ceiling rafters and 2 '' long lag screws to fasten the brackets to the boards. The vertical weight rating of the lag screws exceeds the weight rating of the Multilift.

Overall I do recommend this item. Because I ride a recumbent trike and use a trailer for my kayak, I want to transport both. The shorter tongue on the kayak trailer does not fit well under my recumbent trike carrier. Mine is a different situation than most; therefore, I do recommend this. Due to my needs, I rated this 4 instead of 5.

Building process was a bit more cumbersome than anticipated. Instructions were almost minimal, which I would have preferred more script than just generic pictures of how it supposed to attach onto the bed of the truck. I also was not given any spare parts for anything section of the build( Very Nerve Wracking). After building the entire system I am very pleased and very happy with my purchase and absolutely love that I can collapse and adjust the rack system to my liking, that was a very big pro! All in all I would recommend anyone this rack system as long as it fits the sizing requirements which is almost all trucks. Something to note for others, I knew this before purchase and was n't any issue for my intended uses, is that the rack sits an inch or two under the cab height. This is definitely something to be aware of but overall very pleased with this system!

I bought the kit for the Outback but the Aeroblades I ordered are n't long enough to tie off a 4x8 sheet on the rack, so I exchanged them for the Probars. Aeroblades for the Outback are n't available long enough. The Probars are plenty long and you can cut them shorter if you want. I 'd been looking for a bar system that would fit the short roof rack length on the Outback, and this is good because you can get the mounts pretty far forward and back. Just remember that the rear pivoting bar on the 2020 Outback can be moved back, which gives you more room.

Just got the ProBar Evos last month as they came in the longest bar length at 200cm and I needed to fit a canoe and Thule cargo box on them. I am so stoked on them. Easy to instal as I swapped them out for the Thule wing bars. They do make a bit more noise at highway speeds than the wing bars, but the stability and length are amazing. Very happy with the purchase.

Bought this to pair with a Thule Force XT XL cargo box. This set up is exactly what our family of 7 needs for long trips. The bars a sleek looking, and ZERO whistle while driving. 0- 85 MPH ALL GOOD. For those that say they make noise, IMO, it's the installation. Do that right and you will not have any issues. Great product, performed as expected, do n't hesitate to purchase if in need of one.
