While I 've only had three opportunities to fish with this locator since I 've purchased it, it seems to perform very well. I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen option. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. So far this product meets my expectations( which are high) for a Humminbird product.

After being out fished enough times in ice fishing by people who had a Vexilar I decided I needed one. After using it the first time I know why I was out fished! It comes with instructional DVDs that clearly show how to use it and it is quite simple. I caught 25 perch first time out while people around me caught 4- 5 each. Dick's had the best price from a reputable dealer and service was awesome. I kick myself for not buying a Vexilar sooner and I would certainly buy from Dick's again

This flasher is a fantastic flasher. It functions great and, while it may be on the pricey side, does the job well. The first time I took it out I caught a slab crappie! The only thing is that dicks does n't sell the soft pack, which bums me out because I now have to drive 30 minutes to the closest cabelas.

I bought this item on Friday and fished with it on Saturday. What a blast! Does exactly what the manufacturer says it will do. I was seeing and catching fish on a new lake in 18' of water, tough to do when you 're not relating to any visible structure. I caught fish on the bottom and pulled bait up to catch suspended fish that I never would have known we 're there. Worth every penny!
