The lure charge function is really handy. ... I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. ... It does have great separation capabilities. ... I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen

While I 've only had three opportunities to fish with this locator since I 've purchased it, it seems to perform very well. I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen option. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. So far this product meets my expectations( which are high) for a Humminbird product.

Replacing a 25 year old fish finder. the price point of the HELIX 7 is perfect for what i need. having both summer and ice transducers, so i can use it year round. to spend 3- 4 times more just to get a `` big '' screen is simply not worth it. But, yes you should get DI and SI Mega. they will be extremely helpful to find the fish.

I bought this fish finder a month ago and it has great features and clarity. That is once you get it set up correctly and can see clearly and not seeing algae. Trying to find structure that is holding fish.

In searching for a SI fish finder, I landed on the Helix 7. They really seem to be the best price point for decent screen size and full Side Imaging. Also Humminbird offers a transducer trade- in program if you want a different style of transducer and yours is still new/non- installed which I thought was awesome!

Briefly tried other fish finders, but they all failed or were disappointing. However Helix 5 is a keeper, it finds and displays ALL fish and even my lure. Very pleased with its chart plotting capabilities, the flexibility of the software, and the quality of the device as well. I wish it included charts for my country, Turkiye, however!

I can ’ t say enough good things about this unit.

The Force Current replaces a stern drive and trolling motor all in one unit. Spot lock works great and this is a perfect upgrade for my kayak. The wireless pedals are a little sensitive and take a little getting use to but not having to run wires made installation quick and simple. Definitely worth the investment.

Steve_Shaff
absolutely love my garmin force current with pedals. the pedals are a little tight but other than that it works flawlessly. do n't pay any attention to the videos saying anchor lock does n't work in moving water or windy conditions. I have done both and it works great. you just want to line your kayak up so everything is in the right position. same as you would with an anchor. it looks right in and never moves much at all with heavy currents on the James river and it was really windy. I am using a cloud energy 24V 150AH battery. battery is awesome as well but the 100AH would have been the better choice as it is lighter and fully waterproof. I built a box for mine out of PVC board. I have never used even half of this battery and I am towing my son's kayak behind me and out there for hours. I did n't like the pedal supports that came with it so I made my own with treated plywood. this is all on a Kaku Guru Kayak. I did the camo painting myself with long grass and spray paint. Look on YouTube for how to camo it. I did tons of research on everything on the kayak and just wanted to share it all. have fun fishing.

I ’ ve loved Garmin products for a long time now. I used to have a force trolling motor on my old fishing boat and loved it. Now that I live in Florida I primarily fish from a pedal drive kayak in the gulf. So when I decided to upgrade to a trolling motor, I didn ’ t hesitate to go with the Force Current with foot controls on my Native Titan X kayak. I finally got a chance to get it on the water a few days ago and it did not disappoint me at all. I paired it with my Garmin 73sv and connected 2 lithium 12v 100ah batteries in a series for 24V to get the maximum thrust capabilities. The foot steering takes some getting used to but I love the hands free fishing. Now instead of sticking to a 3 mile radius with my foot pedals, I can go an extra few miles. I ran that motor all day about 9 hours of fishing, only using the pedal drive a few times, plus ran it wide open twice for about 15- 20 minutes each time. When I got done I still had 81% battery charge left. The install was pretty easy on my kayak. Also the motor is light and easy to remove. Plus it ’s extremely easy to lift out of the water in a hurry with the pull rope. I run in very skinny water most of the time and it performs wonderfully. One thing I ’ m thrilled about is the remote and the fact that Garmin made it so you have to hit the turbo button twice to engage it. I ca n't tell you how many times I almost sent myself or someone else in the water on the boat by accidentally hitting the button. It ’s a high price tag but well worth the money!

Purchased the current only a couple weeks ago, but even only after a few trips i am extremely impressed. It ’s clear that there was a lot of thought put into this motor. Everything from the mounting design, to the simple but effective stow and deploy system, to the heading hold feature that somehow works great from the stern. Everything is so dialed in for use on a kayak. Even with it being a very expensive product, it hasn ’ t felt like I over spent a dime. I don ’ t see how you could spend much less to get 5. 5mph on a PA14 with GPS functionality. And that ’s not including the one of a kind wireless foot steering. Shout out to Garmin for really delivering.

Ive had a torqueedo for 4 years and switched to the garmin. The foot pedals take some practice, very easy to get yourself in trouble if you do n't watch it. The integration into my 126SV is awesome... being able to select a way point on the map and it sending me there is pretty cool. The anchor lock is better than I anticipated. Between the foot pedals, the remote, and my graph there are 3 ways to control the motor. I do wish there was a button to return the prop to home position after anchor lock... only con I 've come up with so far.
When selecting a fish finder with chartplotter capabilities, consider features such as screen size, resolution, and the type of sonar technology used. Look for models that offer GPS mapping, allowing you to mark waypoints and navigate efficiently. Additionally, features like split-screen viewing can enhance your experience by displaying both sonar data and maps simultaneously.
A fish finder with chartplotter capabilities combines traditional sonar technology with GPS mapping features, allowing for more comprehensive navigation and fishing strategies. While standard fish finders primarily focus on locating fish and underwater structures, chartplotters provide detailed maps of waterways, helping anglers plan their routes and mark productive fishing spots. This integration enhances overall fishing efficiency.
Fish finders with chartplotter capabilities are versatile and can be used for various types of fishing, including freshwater and saltwater fishing. They are particularly beneficial for offshore fishing, where navigation and understanding underwater topography are crucial. Additionally, they are useful for locating fish in lakes, rivers, and coastal areas, making them a valuable tool for both recreational and professional anglers.
Most fish finders with chartplotter capabilities are designed for user-friendly installation and operation. Many models come with clear instructions and mounting hardware, making setup straightforward. Once installed, the interfaces are typically intuitive, allowing users to easily navigate menus, adjust settings, and access both sonar and mapping features without extensive technical knowledge.
Fish finders with chartplotter capabilities are often constructed using durable materials designed to withstand harsh marine environments. Common materials include high-quality plastics and metals that resist corrosion and damage from water exposure. Additionally, screens are usually made from toughened glass or polycarbonate to ensure visibility and durability in various lighting conditions.
Choosing the right size fish finder with chartplotter for your boat depends on several factors, including the size of your vessel and how much dashboard space you have available. Larger screens provide better visibility and more detailed information, which can be beneficial for navigation and spotting fish. However, ensure that the size you choose fits comfortably within your boat's layout and meets your specific fishing needs.
