We are fairly new boat owners and after learning about NMEA networking, we decided to try adding this at the bow, networked with our HDS Live 7 at the console, our son, the real angler, can see not only what ’s happening at the front of the boat but also the rear. I connected this striker plus 4 through data sharing to my Striker plus 7sv all my waypoints transferee over instantly and as I mark brush at the console they transfer over to my striker plus 7sv real time. While I 've only had three opportunities to fish with this locator since I 've purchased it, it seems to perform very well. I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen option. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. So far this product meets my expectations( which are high) for a Humminbird product.

[ I have the Mega Live 2 connected to a Solix G3 12 and a Solix G3 10 networked together. I have been out twice and the resoultion is much better than my previous foward facing sonar. I love the red watermelon color pallet. I ca n't wait to use the landscape view. as I think it will help with a wider view of the brushpiles I fish. The installation was very easy and I found that the auto settings for sensitivity and contrast worked very well.

This Fish Finder has more features than I need!!! The unit fits well on my Kayak and the power consumption is minimal. The alarm features are excellent and come in handy for a one man operation. The screen visibility in bright sunlight is very good. This unit does not have access to the `` Active Captain '' feature that the larger units have. I recommend this finder for kayakers and small( John Boat) boat owners
