While I 've only had three opportunities to fish with this locator since I 've purchased it, it seems to perform very well. I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen option. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. So far this product meets my expectations( which are high) for a Humminbird product.

This Fish Finder has more features than I need!!! The unit fits well on my Kayak and the power consumption is minimal. The alarm features are excellent and come in handy for a one man operation. The screen visibility in bright sunlight is very good. This unit does not have access to the `` Active Captain '' feature that the larger units have. I recommend this finder for kayakers and small( John Boat) boat owners

[ I have the Mega Live 2 connected to a Solix G3 12 and a Solix G3 10 networked together. I have been out twice and the resoultion is much better than my previous foward facing sonar. I love the red watermelon color pallet. I ca n't wait to use the landscape view. as I think it will help with a wider view of the brushpiles I fish. The installation was very easy and I found that the auto settings for sensitivity and contrast worked very well.

I originally purchased the Hook 4 and used it for a couple of years. When I had some screen problems with that unit, I decided to upgrade based on the reviews I read on the Hook Reveal. What an enormous difference!! The detail, clarity, custom screen options, ease of use are among many of the things that are an improvement over the Hook 4. [ Takes a bit of time to install if you need a battery box as well but once it is together the two items are really solid and easy to use. Only suggestion is a lock that will hold the transducer up in the air and keep it in place while moving the kayak into and out of the water.

[ I had the Terrova previously and it was amazing, BUT, then I had the chance to run my buddys Ulterra one afternoon and I was hooked. But I had to one up him so I opted for the Quest brushless model. Absoultely amazing is all I can say. Its an Ulterra on steroids for lack of a better term. I have ran it for 3 days before charging and the power noticeably better. Mega down, mega side are a must have and amazing to say the least. I think I am a pretty decent fisherman, but now that I have added the equipment the guys always want jump in with me. Amazing amazing amazing if I could rate it 10 stars I would.
