[ My kids and I love to fish. We prefer a collapsible net, and have tried several. Most are flimsey, or hard to open/close. We had one that would sometimes collapse when you tried to land the fish. This is the best one we 've ever tried. When it unfolds and locks open, it has a very solid feel and latch- no way that is accidently coming undone. And then, with a quick twist of the friction fit handle, it will slide in to reduce length, or slide back out to extend to its full length. So cool. We 've landed 10+ pound catfish in this with no problem. If we lost it, I would buy again in a heartbeat.

My old net was a cotton type net which caused a lot of problems releasing the trout while fly fishing. This should solve my problem of the tangles that occurred with the flies getting hung up and should be better on the release of the fish as well. If you are fishing for big lake trout it would probably need to be bigger but for our trips to the San Juan River it will be very functional and make my trips much more enjoyable and a quicker trip back to the water for the trout as well. [ I bought this net to use while fishing from my kayak. I like that the handle folds in half making it more compact, however the hinge when latched comes undone a little easier then i would like. It doesn ’ t effect landing fish but it is annoying when you set the net down it wants to close. Also the net does not float so I had to add pipe insulation around the handle.
