I was dropping 8 and 10 ounce verticle jigs down to 150 feet and the rod performed excellently. Strong backbone, yet sensitive enough to feel the bite. No need to spend hundreds of$ for a jigging rod. I caught several large Amberjacks with this rod and it did a great job controlling the fight. I like it so much I bought the Penn SSV 6500 6' 6 '' spinning/jigging rod and reel combo I have n't used it yet but I know it will perform as well as the more expensive jigging set up's.

I own a lot of high end rods, and these Duckett rods are great. I am not sure what the other guy did to break one, but I have hooked some HUGE fish and had zero problems. Micro guides give you an extreme sensitivity and longest casting distance of any rod I own. My favorite set up is this rod in Medium Heavy with Abu Revo Rocket reel.

Alot of complaints about the eyes not holding up but I have n't had any issues yet. It's rated a little soft and found the medium closer to a med light, so I returned it and got a med heavy 7'... much better. Have n't used it that long, but so far so good.
