I used the trailer for packing in and out of a very remote area in Colorado. The trail was 24 ” wide max. It was canted down hill and very rocky. It was a horse trail. The only failure was the quick release holding the yoke. The securing nut vibrated off and was lost. I used a valve cap to secure it until I could get two nuts to replace the factory nut. I also used lock tight to hold it in place. I suggest a larger diameter rear wheel for more ground clearance. The trailer tracked very well and was really stable. It took a huge beating from the rocks but weathered it well. I also suggest adding rings to connect bungy cords. Connecting to the bottom rail on the trailer resulted in lost cords due to rocks pushing them off. The weight limit is about double what it should be When I had 40lbs in it made bike handling extremely difficult because the front end was light. Very happy with the durability and quality of construction.

Kit worked well. I changed the mount from inside the trailer to outside( who wants to lose space in the trailer bed?) by getting some additional u- bolts and L- brackets to replace the bottom mounting plates. I did have to replace the bolts used to attach the tie down points, as the wrench needed to tighten them would not reach inside the cross bar.$ 2. 50 worth of slightly smaller bolts, nuts and washers fixed the issue. I still need to cut off the excess bolt threads, but it is going to work great for carrying kayaks while still allowing the trailer to be used for hauling other items.

No, I do not personally own one of the racks, but coming from a person with loads of ladder rack and vehicle rack purchasing and using experience, this may the coolest, most useful product I ’ ve ever come across. And believe me when I say, I am very OCD, we use ladder racks on all our work trucks and enclosed trailers and I have shopped just every brand and style out there. The ease- ability of switching from Stroller to Bike is amazing, you just pull the tire down. The large ties as well make it so simple to put air in the tires( our last one was awful). I think this was made to go the distance. Only complaint, the front wheel when you turn it into a stroller is not good for running. As an avid runner( 7: 30pace per mile for easy runs) this tire is awful. It's a plastic tire so there's no fluid motion and it's hard to turn. Luckily, we bought this for biking purposes and it has 100% exceed our expectations on that front!

This was really easy to install. Be sure to look closely at the pictures! The text descriptions were almost no help. How do you `` dress '' a pulley anyway? This makes `` having '' a kayak available to everyone because `` where do you store a kayak? '' is probably the one reason more people do n't have one!

I stack two kayaks on each other and pull them up together. I 'm probably getting close to the max weight that way but it works for my situation. Hardware is sturdy. Rope seems soft but has n't worn out after a few years use. Just something I keep an eye on. Works well. After all this time I expect the hardware to continue to be robust and the rope is doing better than expected. The rope may be intentionally done that way to help with the auto lock feature which is great when you ate toed and pulling up heavy loads. I 'd buy another one without hesitation.

My canoe is finally out of the way when not in use. I love this. It was easy to install and handles the canoe perfectly. I do agree with other reviews about the strap, though. I ended up ditching the strap because I was able to connect the hooks right on to the seat. Up, up and away!
